BE SPIRITUALLY MINDED (1)

Bible Texts: Gen.1:26-28, Gen.3:1-5, Rom.8:5-6, 2Cor.5:17, Rom.6:1, Ps.24:1, Gal.6:8, 1Cor.2:14, Jn.3:6, Jn.4:24

For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh, but they that are after the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. For to be CARNALLY minded is death, but to be SPIRITUALLY minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God, for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. So, then they that are in the flesh cannot please God (Rom.8:5-8)

One fundamental responsibility you have and must sustain in your walk as the good and godly husbandman is spirituality, that is, minding spiritual things. But, as the husbandman, what does it mean for you and I to be spiritually minded?

It means your life and my life are surrendered totally to God through Jesus Christ by letting the Word of God rule our lives and become our final authority.

It also means that your decisions and actions are determined by what the Bible says and not what is trending in the world or what the world thinks or says.

It means that the Word of God must always take first place over and above your feelings, your emotions, or the culture of the society.

How do I become spiritual and remain so as the good and godly husbandman?

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

• Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to live by Your Spirit and walk in the newness of life.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, destroy every form of carnality in my life.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, restore to me the joy of my salvation.

 FAITH CONFESSION

I give myself to the spiritual demands of prayer, word study, fasting and fellowship with God, and walk in the newness of life in Christ Jesus because that is what makes me the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.

PRAYER OF SALVATION/REDEDICATION

Now that you have read the devotional, you need to have a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ (1Tim.2:4). It is the first step in your walk of righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.

Please, pray this prayer of salvation in faith.

Lord Jesus, I come to you today just as I am. I acknowledge that I have fallen short of Your glory. I ask for Your forgiveness of my sins today. I invite You into my life to be my Lord and Saviour. Thank You for saving my life.
