Yesterday, we discovered from Scriptures that the proof of growth is responsibility. You and I, as husbandmen, must grow up spiritually by manifesting the fruit of the Spirit of Jesus Christ as a lifestyle.
Today, I want us to consider another Scripture towards our growth journey as the good and godly husbandman.
For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh, but they that are after the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. For to be CARNALLY minded is death, but to be SPIRITUALLY minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God, for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. So, then they that are in the flesh cannot please God (Rom.8:5-8)
As the husbandman, you must mind spiritual things by allowing your life to be guided by what the Word of God says and not what you feel. You must give and keep giving God first place in your life, in your decisions and in your thought. This is how the mind of Christ is formed in you to make you think and act like Christ will, as the good and godly man, husband and father. Praise God!
Being spiritually minded helps you to overcome the temptation of satan, sin and the world because you know the mind of Christ on how to live as the man, husband and father (Phlip.4:8). It helps you to overcome the weaknesses and shortcomings of your wife and your children because the love of Christ is shed abroad in your heart (Rom.5:5). It also helps you to see your wife and children from the lens that God sees them and not as the world, your emotions or others see them (Ps.139:14).
Grow up! Be spiritually minded! It is your pathway to becoming the good and godly husbandman.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to live by Your Spirit and walk in the newness of life.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, destroy every form of carnality in my life.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, restore to me the joy of my salvation.
FAITH CONFESSION
I give myself to spiritual demands of prayer, word study, fasting and fellowship with God and walk in the newness of life in Christ Jesus because that is what makes me the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
PRAYER OF SALVATION/REDEDICATION
Now that you have read the devotional, you need to have a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ (1Tim.2:4). It is the first step in your walk of righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.
Please, pray this prayer of salvation in faith.
Lord Jesus, I come to you today just as I am. I acknowledge that I have fallen short of Your glory. I ask for Your forgiveness of my sins today. I invite You into my life to be my Lord and Saviour. Thank You for saving my life.
