HAVE THE MIND OF CHRIST, ACT LIKE CHRIST!

Spread the love

Bible Texts: Philp.2:5, Jn.14:26, Mk.9:29, Gal.4:19, Rev.12:11, Lk.6:45, Pro.4:23, Lk.18:1, Matt.26:41-42, 2Cor.5:17, Jn.3:4-8, 1Cor.15:33

Did you know you can love your wife as Christ has loved the church and gave Himself to it? Did you also know that you can be the good and godly father to your children the same way Christ is to you? Yes, you can, only if you have the mind of Christ.

Let this mind be in you, even the mind of Christ (Philp.2:5)

God wants you to have the mind of Christ because it influences your thoughts, actions and conduct in ways that please God. When you have the mind of Christ, you will always ask what Christ will do in every given situation; be it the way you want to respond to your wife’s actions, treat her and your children, or even make decisions.

But for you to have the mind of Christ and think like Christ would, you must be born again and remain in love with Jesus Christ (Jn.3:4-8, 2Cor.5:17).

You must also mind the books you read, the songs you listen to, the films you watch and the relationships you keep. All of these are influences, and they can either influence you to think like Christ or think like the world (1Cor.15:33).

You must continue to engage the forces of prayer and fasting for empowerment so that your thoughts will yield to the Words of Christ (Ps.51:10, Mk.9:29, Mk.14:38, Jn.14:26, Gal.4:19)

As the husbandman, having the mind of Christ is having the Word of Christ dominating your spirit as you study and think on God’s Word (Ps.1:1-3). And when that happens, your outward life begins to reflect the image and likeness of Christ at home, in your relationship with your wife, your children and in the marketplace (Matt.5:14-16).

Hallelujah!

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, forgive me for allowing ungodly relationships into my life and thinking like the world.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, deliver me from ungodly relationships, influences and resources.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to always feed my mind with Your words of wisdom, knowledge and understanding.

FAITH CONFESSION

I guard my mind with all diligence and protect it from the influences of satan, sin and the world and allow only the word of God to influence my thought and actions because I am on a journey to becoming the good and godly man, husband and father in Jesus name. Amen.
