Strengthen The Man On The Inside

Spread the love

Main Scriptures: Job.23:12-13

More Scriptures: Job 32:8, Jos.1:7, Php.2:13

I have come to discover from the word of God that no husband ever takes command of the outside until he has taken charge of his spirit man. As the head of the family, you are first a spirit. Everything that flows from your spirit man influences what you say, what you see, what you do and how you act. You cannot overcome the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life if you have not controlled your spiritual eyes, ears and mouth. You will continue to fall to the temptations of satan and sin if you don’t strengthening your spirit man. The scripture says, “there is a spirit in man” (Job 32:8). Consider what Jesus Christ said about the connection between the man on the inside and the man on the outside. Jesus said, if any man lust after a woman in his heart, he has committed the act of adultery (Matt.5:28). This is true because if the man can take command of his heart by bringing it under the influence of the power of God, it will be impossible for him to think of adultery and engage in the act. The reason why you keep struggling to remain a good and godly husband is because you have not fortified the man on your inside.

There are three major ways you strengthen your spirit man. The first is to feed it abundantly with the word of God. The Scripture says that “thy word have I eaten and it has become refreshing to my soul… The more you feed the man on your inside with the word of God, the more empowered the man on your outside becomes. And this will empower you to take quality decisions that will please Jesus Christ. The second is to subject the man on the inside to the force of prayer with fasting. Mk.9:29 tells us that there is a kind that cannot happen except by prayer and fasting. Prayer with fasting empowers your spirit man which flows through your outer man and affects what you read, where you go, what you say and who you relate with. You are empowered to stand for righteousness. The third step is for you to engage the man on the inside to think on what is good and godly (Philippians.4:8). This is also called meditation. As you read the word of God and discover what He wants you to do as the husbandman, learn to put your mind to think deeply on your discovery. If you do these, you will become a good and godly husband.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

·         Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower the man on my inside to think on Your truth deeply.

·         Father, in the Name of Jesus, give me command and control over my eyes, ears and mouth.

·         Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to walk in righteousness all the time.

FAITH CONFESSION

I train my inner man to yield to the instructions and power of God because that is what gives me command and control over my eyes, ears, and mouth as a good and godly husband in Jesus name. Amen.
