Main Scriptures: Philippians 1:7
More Scriptures: Jos.24:15. Deut.6:7, Acts 3:6
I want to ask you very sincere questions. Have you imparted your grace onto your wife and children? What measure of grace have you imparted on your flock? And finally, what type of grace have you imparted on them? As the head of your family and the spiritual leader of your wife and children, it is important for you to live out your life through your wife and children. Apostle Paul had this wonderful testimony about his relationship with his followers, the church in Philippi; ye are all partakers of my grace (Philip.1:7). There was something about his life that could be evidently seen in the lives of his followers. This is what God expects of you as the head of your family. People should relate with your wife and children and see your principles displayed. A time came after Jesus Christ had left the earth that His disciples went to minister in a place. And the people could see the life of Christ in them, for they exclaimed these men have been with Christ. However, for your wife and children to be partakers of your grace, it is important for you to know some of the graces you carry.
God has engraced you with truthfulness, discipline, faith, courage, honesty, grace-filled words, forgiveness, hospitality, kindness, sacrificial living, temperance, prayers, fasting, giving and peace. But firstly, you must partner with the Person of the Holy Spirit to help you develop these graces in your life. As a leader, you cannot give what you don’t have (Acts 3:6). It’s only when you have been helped by the Holy Spirit to have these graces that you can now transfer it to your flock. Secondly, you must be committed to working out your salvation with fear and trembling. Thirdly, you must hunger for the supply of the Spirit of Christ (Philp.1:19). Only the husband who hungers for the life of Christ receives the virtues and Spirits of Christ. One of the blessings of imparting godly graces upon your wife and children is that you will enjoy peace and be filled with joy of the Holy Ghost. Furthermore, your children shall be known among the Gentiles; and everyone who sees them shall acknowledge that they are the seed which the Lord has blessed (Is.61:9). You have a wonderful and an enviable position as a husband. Take full advantage and be a blessing to your wife and children.
SPIRITUAL EXERCISE
- Father, by Your Spirit, fill me with the fullness of the Spirit of Jesus Christ.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, help me to transfer to my wife and children the godly virtues in me.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me with the spirit of truth and save me from the spirit of error.
FAITH CONFESSION
I give my whole life to Jesus Christ so that I may live out His life and impart same into my wife and children as a good and godly husband in Jesus name. Amen.
