PRAYERS FOR YOUR WIFE (1)

Spread the love

Main Scriptures: Luke 18:1

More Scriptures: Eph.5:27, 1Jn2:1, Jn.10:11

In the next few days, by the grace of God, the Person of the Holy Spirit would be helping our understanding, as husbands, regarding the need to pray for our better half- your wife. As the head of your family and the shepherd over your wife, what you say in prayers, especially in your quiet time of communication with God, goes a long way to define the output from your wife. God’s will is for you to present a wife who is without spot or wrinkle (Eph.5:24-27). He desires you to have a godly wife-a reflection of the Church. Don’t forget that your wife is the bride and you are the groom. So, the same way Jesus Christ has an everlasting relationship with the Church, is the same way you should have a relationship with your wife. In John 17, the Scripture gives account of how Jesus Christ, the perfect example of how husbands are to function, prayed and He is still praying for His bride, the Church. Infact the Bible qualifies Him as our Advocate (1Jn.2:1). A few examples abound of husbands in the Bible that prayed God’s will into the lives of their wives. Isaac (Gen.25:21), Zechariah (Lk.1:13). But how do you pray? What do you pray about? What do you need to get answers to your prayer for your wife? These would be answered in the next few days.

The first prayer would be, FATHER, GIVE MY WIFE ENERGY AND STRENGTH FOR EACH DAY. Your wife needs supernatural strength to function effectively in every area of her life-spiritually, mentally, sexually and psychologically. As the head of the family and the spiritual leader over your wife, you expect her to serve you in several ways-to satisfy your sexual needs, cook sumptuous meal for you, perhaps wash your clothes, serve your family and friends when they visit, take care of your children, and may be handle school runs. Now when you relate these expectations with the fact that a woman by make-up is physically not as strong as a man, then praying for God to strengthen her is not only spiritual, it is also a proof that you are a good shepherd (Jn.10:11). Your wife needs your help as her head. She desires to serve you well and in the best way possible. She wants to please you with her entire being. But you are better positioned to help her because that is what makes you a good and godly husband.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

  • Father, by Your Spirit, give my wife uncommon strength and energy each day.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower my wife to function effectively in every aspect of her life.
  • Father, by the power in the blood of Jesus Christ, destroy every root of weakness in her life.

FAITH CONFESSION

I stand in the gap in prayers for my wife for supernatural STRENGTH AND ENERGY because I am ordained by God to be a good and godly husband to her in Jesus name. Amen.
