BUILDING ON THE SOLID ROCK

Bible Texts: Matt.16:18, Jn.10:29, Mk.9:29, Jn.10:9, Lk.18:1, Ps.23:1, Gal.4:19, Rom.10:10, Jos.24:15, Gen.2:14-16

As the husbandman and the head of your family, you must understand that you have the mandate from God to build your home, your wife and children on the foundation of Jesus Christ (Gen.2:14-16, Jos.24:15). Your relationship with your wife and children represents the kingdom of God on earth and it is precious in the eyes of God. But satan, your adversary, sin and the world are working day and night to steal, kill, and destroy that glorious heritage you have as the good and godly husbandman (Jn.10:9-11).

But how do I secure my heritage and become victorious as the good and godly husbandman? The Word of God tells you what you can do to secure your honour and maintain your victory as the good and godly husbandman as you lead your life, wife and children.

This is what Jesus Christ, the perfect example of the good and godly husbandman says.

And I say also unto thee, that thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it (Matt.16:18).

If you want to secure your heritage and fulfill the perfect will of God for your life as the good and godly husbandman, you must build on the ROCK.

But what ROCK are you to build on? It is Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ represents all that you will ever know or need as the husbandman. He is the word that will make you to function in your fullness as the good and godly husbandman. He is THE WAY, THE TRUTH and THE LIFE (Jn.14:6). In John chapter 1 and verses 1 to 5, the Scripture says, the WORD was God and all things were made by Him and nothing that was made that wasn’t made by Him )Jn.1:1-3).

Heaven and earth shall pass away but not a jot of my word shall pass away…..(Matt.5:18) Everything foundation you build your life on and lean on to execute your tasks as the husbandman will fail. Only on Jesus Christ and His word shall you have the success you desperately need as the husbandman. You need full dosages of the word of God to resist and repel the arrows of the enemy that is shot at you to make you behave inappropriately.

How do I build on the ROCK? You build on the ROCK by spending time with the Word of God (Pro.4:20). The more you time you spend and invest in searching and studying the Scriptures, the more knowledge you have that gives your power to conduct your life in the will and ways of God. The second step for you is to meditate on the Word of God. But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law doeth he meditate day and night (Ps.1:1-2). The third step is for you to pray the word of God into your life and into the lives of your wife and children (Lk.18:1, Mk.9:29, Gal.4:19). You must engage the weapon of prayers to enforce the word of God in your life as the husbandman. Finally, you must confess and continue to confess what the Word of God says over and above what the world, satan, and the circumstances say (Rom.10:10).

Jesus Christ is THE ROCK. He is the WORD. And as you take in God’s word into your spirit man and act on it, the WORD will help you build a strong foundation that empowers you to stand strong in the fulfillment of your calling as the good and godly man, husband and father.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

• Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to receive Your engrafted WORD into my spirit and empower me to act on the WORD with delight.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, deliver me from the power of sin and the flesh.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, let the words You will teach me gain root in my heart and bear fruits in my life.

I am building my life on the ROCK, Jesus Christ, because it is my security to function as the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
