Yesterday, by the help of the Person of the Holy Spirit, you and I understand the dangers of adultery and the negative consequences it brings to our lives, our relationships with our wife, children and the heritage we have in Jesus Christ. We concluded that sexual immorality offers temporary pleasure but brings eternal and long lasting damage. And if you have fallen into sexual immorality, I encourage you to repent and the mercy of the Lord will prevail over your life. I pray in the name of Jesus Christ that we shall leap over the landmine of sexual immorality, as we lead our lives, wife and children. Amen.
Another landmine that satan lays for the husbandman is the landmine of depression, leading many to commit suicide and many more dying of heart attack. As the husbandman, it is a fact that there are so many expectations you have for yourself, your family and even your community. You are under pressure to meet the demands of your family, work and extended relations. You work hard and yet it seems nothing is working.
On a daily basis, you endeavour to be responsible to God and to your wife and children but it doesn’t seem you are making any concrete progress. It appears all doors of success are locked against you and no help is coming from anyone or place. And in your confused state and struggle, satan shows you how worthless it is to live life.
Satan tells you that life is cheap and can be terminated. He drags you into a depressive state and tells you that you do not lose anything killing yourself. He shows you how simple it is to take your life. He tells you it is the best alternative to your challenges. He magnifies your problems and makes you think that you are the only husbandman who is going through those struggles. He tries to paint and make your problems bigger than they appear. And in all of these, you fall into depression and conclude that suicide is the way out. It is a big lie.
Now, see what the Word of God says. THOU SHALL NOT KILL (Ex.20:13). God has commanded that killing is a sin. So, if you take your life, you have killed yourself and that is a sin. And the word of God says that the wages of sin is death and all sinners shall end up in the lake of unquenchable fire. Satan wants you to fall into the trap of suicide not only to end your hope on earth but also to welcome you in hell.
You must understand that God, your heavenly Father, loves you and has your back covered. God has inscribed you in the palm of His hands. He has great plans for you and His end for you is not evil but good (Jer.29:11). God does not intend that your wife will become a widow or your children fatherless. He wants you to lead them, alive and well. Just hold on to Jesus Christ and cast all your cares upon Him for He cares for you.
The Bible says that Christ has given you and me all that pertains to life and godliness. The finances, materials and great opportunities that seem to be a challenge to you can be solved in Jesus. All you need to do is to cast your burden upon Jesus Christ because He cares. As the good and godly husbandman, you must anchor your hope in Jesus Christ and the provision He has made on the Cross for you. He is rich yet He became poor so that through His poverty you can be rich. So, it is not true that you will end up poor or live a life of struggles. Jesus Christ took strips on His back so that you can be healed of every sickness in you and around your wife and children.
Jesus loves you. And this is the word of the Lord for you. Please hold on to it.
Fear thou not, for I am with thee, be not dismayed, for I am thy God…For I the Lord thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not I will help thee. Fear not, thou worm of Jacob, and ye men of Israel, I will help thee, saith the Lord and thy Redeemer (Is.41:10-18).
SPIRITUAL EXERCISE
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, deliver me from the ambush of depression and suicide.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, make me to overcome the landmine of depression and suicide.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to overcome every satanic thoughts and imagination of suicide in my life.
FAITH CONFESSION:
I overcome the landmine of depression and suicide. I shall not die but live to be a blessing to my life, wife and children because it is the will of God for me as the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.

- Father, in the Name of Jesus, I reject every temptation to withhold what is due to my workers in 2023
