And if any man thinks that he knoweth anything, he knoweth nothing yet as he ought to know (1Cor.8:2).
As the good and godly husbandman, one of the secrets to growing as you lead yourself, wife and children is learning. The more you learn about the things of God and His principles and practice them, the quicker you grow and the better you become. This is why you must continue to study the Bible as a lifestyle.
As the man, husband and father, there are lot of instructions God has given which are designed to make you become good and godly husbandman. Until you search the Scriptures, you will not know the mind of God for you and this will make you to continue to live below God’s standard for you.
Search the Scriptures, for in them ye think ye have eternal life, and they are they which testify of me (Jn.5:39)
As the good and godly husbandman who wants to grow, develop and expand his leadership space, you must continue to evaluate your knowledge base. You must learn, unlearn and relearn. You must continue to seek for new ways of improving your leadership skills. Apostle Paul, one of the greatest Christian leaders to have ever lived has this to say.
Though I might also have confidence in the flesh. If any other man thinketh that he hath whereof he might trust in the flesh, I more. Circumcised the eight day of the stock of Israel of the tribe of Benjamin, an Hebrew of the Hebrews, as touching the law, a Pharisee. Concerning zeal, persecuting the church, touching the righteousness which is in the law, blameless. What things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ. That I may know him and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made comfortable unto his death. Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended, but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus (Philippians 3:4-10,13-14)
Whatever, you think you know now cannot be compared to what you do not know and have not yet discovered in the word of God. There are new insights and truths you can get from the word of God that will help you in your relationships, finances, health, values, work and in so many areas. And each time you discover new truth from the word of God and practice it, you move up the ladder in leading yourself, your wife and children in ways that pleases the Lord, Jesus Christ.
For the path of the just is like a shining light that shines brighter and brighter unto a perfect day (Pro.4:18)
A few years ago, I could beat the traffic light and concluded that it didn’t matter. And I justified my action, even though I knew that I was disobeying the traffic law which is part of the laws of the land. But one day, as I studied my Bible, I came across 1st John chapter 5 and verse 17 and that changed my attitude forever. It says, all unrighteousness is sin…(1Jn.5:17). From that day till Jesus returns, I will not beat the traffic light, whether I am in a hurry or not.
I encourage you to develop a never-ending search of God’s perfect will for you as the man, husband and father from the word of God-The Bible. And as you find His will and obey them, you will grow to be the good and godly husbandman, bringing glory to Jesus Christ. You also become a godly motivation to your wife, children and in the marketplace (Matt.5:14-16).
SPIRITUAL EXERCISE
• Father, in the name of Jesus, empower me to continue to search the Scriptures to know Your perfect will for me as the husbandman.
• Father, in the name of Jesus, destroy the power of pride and arrogance in my life and fill me with the Spirit of grace and humility.
• Father, in the name of Jesus, empower me to do Your perfect will at all times.
FAITH CONFESSION
I keep searching the Bible, keep knowing the truth and keep practicing what God commands me to do because that is what makes me grow to become the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
