GROWING IN THE ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE

Spread the love

Bible Texts: Ps.67:5-6, Rom.12:2, Gen.2:14-18, Eph.5:25, Ps.92:1-2, 1Cor.13:4-7, Rom.5:5, Philp.4:8, Eph.6:4, Eph.5:29, Num.11:1-2, Ps.128:3, Ps.127:3-5, Pro.31:11-22, Is.61:9

I welcome you to the month of August 2023. It is a new month and it will usher you and all that concerns you into a productive and successful season, in Jesus name. Amen.

But how must the husbandman approach this unique month. The husbandman must have a grateful attitude towards God, His works, and his wife and children. That is what God wants you to have as you lead your life, wife and children.

As the good and godly husbandman, do you want to experience continuous growth in your relationship with God, through Jesus Christ, your wife and children? Do you want the value you have for your wife to continue to appreciate and grow in leaps and bounds? Do you want to have reasons to enjoy a sweet fellowship with your wife as God’s treasure to you? Are you desirous for your children to experience spiritual, emotional, academic and physical progress in their lives?

The Bible passage in Psalms chapter 67 and verses 5 to 6 is the wisdom key to increase and fruitfulness.

Let the people praise thee O God, let all the people praise thee. Then shall the earth yield her increase, and God even our God shall bless us (Ps.67:5-6)

Gratitude is what motivates increases and multiplication. As the good and godly husbandman, if you want to experience increase and fruitfulness in your life and relationships with God, your wife and children, you must cultivate the attitude of gratitude to God and to your wife and children. A grateful heart is the master key to a world of unending progress. And that is what stirs up joy in your heart.

Murmuring and complaining are disastrous tools in your leadership role as the good and godly husbandman (Num.11:1-2). You cannot keep complaining about your life and expect it to bear good fruits. You cannot continue to complain about your wife and expect her to be useful in your eyes. You cannot continue to complain and murmur about your children and expect positive outcomes from them. You must be very watchful of the spirit of ingratitude. It has the power to diminish the worth of God , your wife and children in your heart.

You must always remember and put this truth before your eyes, daily. That your wife and children are precious gifts from the Lord and you must be grateful to God for giving them to you, regardless of their weakness, frailties and failures. Your attitude of gratitude will motivate you to nurture, nourish, admonition and cherish in the way of the Lord until they become all that God has ordained for them (Eph.5:29, Eph.6:4, Ps.128:3, Ps.127:3-5, Pro.31:11-22, Is.61:9). Because your wife and children are precious seeds from the Lord, they need to be cultivated and nurtured. And one major ways you can do this is through thanksgiving.

Work to grow your gratitude-altitude toward God, your wife and children and enjoy fruitfulness on all sides.

Happy New month!
