GOD ELECTS YOU TO SUCCEED

Spread the love

Bible Texts: Ecc.9:11, Rom.9:16, 2Pet.1:8-10, Jn.15:4-5, Ps.23:1, Ps.1:1, Gen.18:19, Gen.17:1, Col.3:19, Eph.6:4, 1Tim.5:8-10, 2Tim.2:15, Lk.18:1, 1Cor.13:4-8

Every husbandman occupies the office of the husbandman by the grace and election of God through Jesus Christ. It is God who wills and empowers the husbandman to become the man, husband and father at the same time (Ecc.9:11, Rom.9:16).

But it is not enough to know this truth it much more important for the husbandman to know what to do to make a success of his calling. And that is what we shall be considering today.

But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins. Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure, for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall (2Peter 1:8-10)

However, for you to succeed in your assignment as the good and godly husbandman, you must be diligent in performing your tasks as the godly man, husband and father.

Give diligence to make your calling and election sure, for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall (2Pet.1:10).

Diligence means that you must take personal responsibility to take your place as the shepherd over the sheep of God in your custody and over your sheepfold. You must be committed to doing what the word of God commands you to do, with delight and not complaining and murmuring. You must be determined to put your best foot forward, regardless of the challenges. You must be ready and always be willing to search and study the Bible to find out the perfect will of God for you as the man, husband and father with the intention to live it for the good of your life, the lives of your wife and children. You must always be ready to engage with the spiritual weapons of faith, prayer, confidence, courage, hope and trust.

But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day (Pro.4:18)

God wants you to improve in the quality of your life as the man, husband and father. God wants you to enjoy progress in your leadership responsibilities and commitments as the husbandman. Hence, if you are the good, you can be better. And if you are better, you can be the best man, husband and father. This is the perfect will of God for you as the husbandman.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me with the spirit of diligence and help me to make my calling a success.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to search my Bible and please open my eyes to see and my ears to hear what You want me to see and know.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to be a responsible man, husband and father.

FAITH CONFESSION

God has called me into the office of the husband-hood and I am committed to pursue my covenant tasks as the man, husband and father because that is what makes me the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
