Praise God! We give God all the glory for the journey so far in this 70days of fasting and prayers. We thank God for grace and strength. Today marks the beginning of the last 10 days of the fast. I pray for definite encounters that will bring about miracles, signs and wonders for every participant in Jesus name. Amen.
The times we are living in are dangerous times because truth is scarce and falsehood is gaining. For example, you hear marriage and relationship teachers mention that love is not enough to keep marriage. Though it sounds innocent and appeals to the conscience of so many people, it is falsehood preached as truth. Sadly, this has continued to water down the worth of marriage. It is for this reason that you and I must give attention to the word of God, search the Scriptures by ourselves and depend on the Person of the Holy Spirit for revelation and insight.
This is why today’s teaching is to remind you that you are light and a witness of the truth of God’s plan for the husbandman.
In the beginning was the WORD and the WORD was with God and the WORD was God. The same was in the beginning with God. In Him was life and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness and the darkness comprehended it not.
There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light that all men through him might believe. He was not that Light but was sent to bear witness of that Light (Jn.1:1-8)
This is the lesson for you and I. God made you and I husbandmen, that is a man, husband and father. We did not make ourselves. In Genesis chapter 1 and verses 26 to 28, God made you a man. God said let us make man…….(Gen.1:26-28). In verse 18 of Genesis chapter 2, God made you a husband. The Bible says that God said that it is not good for man to be alone, I will make him a helpmeet (wife) (Gen.2:18). And in verse 1 of Genesis chapter 4 God made you a father. And Adam knew his wife and she conceived and bare Cain and said, I have gotten a man from the Lord (Gen.4:1).
And in order to make us flourish, God sent us to our wife and children both as the men, husbands and fathers so that we can be witnesses and ambassadors of Jesus Christ. God sent us to them to represent Jesus Christ in words, actions and conduct. In Matthew chapter 5 and verses 14 to 16, the Word of God says that, ye are the light of the world……and let your light so shine before men that that they glorify your Father who is in heaven (Matt.5:14-16).
God wants you to do to your wife and children what Jesus Christ will do were He to be in your position as the good and godly man, husband and father. When Jesus Christ was on earth, He was merciful, loving, compassionate, forgiving, caring, respectful, faithful, righteous, holy, gracious, understanding of our weaknesses, praying for the people, providing for their needs, and leading the people with courage, hope and faith.
You and I are made by God to be witnesses of Jesus Christ, first in our homes and as we relate with our wife, children and in the market place of life. Therefore, let us make our lives count for the truth of God’s instructions and commandments because that is what makes us the good and godly husbandmen in the times we are in.
SPIRITUAL EXERCISE
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to represent Jesus Christ in my home and in the lives of my wife and children.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, let the life of Jesus Christ shine through me, making my wife, children and the world to believe You.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, make a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable unto You.
FAITH CONFESSION
I am made and sent by God as a witness of the LIGHT and I receive grace to represent the LIGHT, JESUS CHRIST, in the lives of my wife, children and the market place because that is what makes me the good and godly husbandman, in Jesus name. Amen.
