HAVE A QUALITY WALK WITH JESUS CHRIST

One of the greatest desires of God for you as the husbandman is to have a quality relationship with Him through Jesus Christ. God wants you to maintain a walk of righteousness and holiness towards Him because that is your greatest treasure and that is the reason why He created you (Gen.3:1-4).

But God said unto him, thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee, then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided? So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God (Lk.12:20-21)

The rich fool in Luke chapter 12 had everything but not God. He had material possessions but did not have godly relationship with God. And so he ended a disaster.

As the husbandman it is good to have the material things of life because God wants you to live a comfortable life (3Jn.1:2, Jer.29:11). But what is much more important to God is for you to live a life that is pleasing to Him through Jesus Christ. God wants you!

But what will happen to me if I have a good and godly relationship with God through Jesus Christ?

When you have a quality walk with God, you are empowered to obey His commandments and admonition for you as the man, husband and father. Your thoughts, conduct and action will reflect the nature of Christ because you have the life of Christ in you (2Cor.5:17). And above all, you are assured of a place in eternity-heaven-after your days on earth are over.

In order for you to have a quality relationship with God through Jesus Christ, you must first and foremost be born again (Jn.3:3-7). This means that you must confess your sins to God, repent of them and ask Jesus Christ to come into your life as your personal Lord and Saviour (2Cor.5:17, Ps.24:1-2). Secondly, you must make the Bible your trusted friend by studying it and meditating on what it says to you (Ps.1:1-3, Jn.5:39, Jn.14:26, 2Tim.2:15). The more you study the Bible, the more you know the mind of God concerning your life as the husbandman. And as you think on what God says about you, you begin to notice a steady transformation in your life. Thirdly, you must pray the reality of what God has said in His word into your life (Gal.4:19, Philp.2:13, Lk.18:1, Mk.9:29, Jn.15:3-5). This is because it is only through the power of the Person of the Holy Spirit can you be empowered to do the perfect will of God. Remember that the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak. But when you pray you are empowered to do all that God commands.

Therefore, be rich towards God through Jesus Christ. Keep building your relationship with Jesus Christ. Look up to Jesus Christ and follow His footsteps.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

• Father, in the Name of Jesus, forgive me for not giving You first place in my life.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, create in me a clean heart and renew a right spirit within me.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to be rich towards You in all my thoughts and ways.

FAITH CONFESSION

I am rich toward God in all that I think, say and do because that is what defines my heritage as the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
