PRAYER AND FASTING EMPOWERS

DAY 34 of FASTING AND PRAYER

Sometime ago, the Person of the Holy Spirit opened my eyes to Genesis chapter 1 and verse 26-28. The revelation knowledge I received from Him is that when God blessed the man, God actually empowered him to be like God; hence, he was able to name all the animals without going to any school or having foreknowledge. My understanding now opened to the truth of Scriptures that you and I cannot function like the good and godly man, husband and father without empowerment from God.

Wherefore, my beloved, as all of you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. For IT IS GOD WHICH WORKETH IN YOU BOTH TO WILL AND TO DO OF HIS GOOD PLEASURE. Do all things without murmurings and disputings (Philippians 2:12-14)

From the Bible passage in Philippians chapter 2 and verse 13, it is clear that God is the only person who can empower you to do His good pleasure as the man, husband and father. Only God can make you submit to Him in all things, and only He can make you obey Him in all things. Without the empowerment of God through the Person of the Holy Spirit, you will struggle to fulfill God’s plan for your life as the husbandman (Zech.4:6, Jn.15:5).

Now, how do I receive the empowerment to become the good and godly husbandman and remain so for life?

You receive power to become by the weapons of prayer and fasting (Lev.6:9, Mk.9:29, Acts 2:1-4). The prayer platform is the altar of empowerment (Jer.33:3). You must engage and activate your prayer life by fervently asking God for empowerment to perform. A lot of the times the spirit is willing to do the will of God, but the flesh is weak. But with the empowerment of the Holy Ghost, which you receive from the place of prayer, you become empowered to overcome the dictates of the flesh and do all that God commands.

The word of God is the fuel you need to keep your prayer altar burning. The more you give attention to the study and meditation of the word of God, the more the spirit of the word enters your spirit man and helps you to pray rightly (Jos.1:6-8, Ezk.2:2, Ps.1:1-3).

Your desire to become the good and godly man, husband and father will not happen by your strength (1Sam.2:9, Philp.2:13, Gal.4:19). Praying the word of God and praying in the Holy Ghost empowers you to do the perfect will of God for your life as the man, husband and father.

Therefore, engage the weapons of prayer, fasting and the word of God.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

• Father, in the Name of Jesus, pour on me the spirit of grace and supplication for an effectual prayer life.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to continue to connect to Your power to do Your perfect will.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, help me to keep pressing on in prayers until I see the changes from Your word happen in my life.

FAITH CONFESSION

I continue to stand in the word, in prayer and fasting, praying the perfect will of God to be done in my life as the man, husband and father and being empowered to doing the things that please Him because that is what makes me the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.

Lord, Jesus, I come to you today, just as I am. I acknowledge that I have fallen short of Your glory. I ask for Your forgiveness of my sins today. I invite You into my life to be my Lord and Saviour. Thank You for saving my life.

• Father, in the Name of Jesus, make my body Your temple and burn every chaff of sickness and disease with the refiner’s fire
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, as Your burn the chaff, fill my body with new strength and vitality
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, make me to overcome the wall of health complications and help me to run through the year 2026 in good health and soundness of mind
