POWER AND AUTHORITY OF THE FATHER

DAY 38 of FASTING AND PRAYER

Bible Texts: Mk.10:13-16, Deut.6:7-10, Eph.6:4, Gen.1:26-28, 1Tim.3:2-5, Is.61:9, Ps.1:3, Ps.127:3, Gen.18:19, Pro.19:18

Yesterday, we discovered from the Word of God that the good and godly husbandman must be compassionate because that is the nature of Jesus Christ, the perfect example of the husbandman.

Today, I want to explore another truth from the word of God that will reposition you to be in command of your children’s lives, giving them direction and shielding them from the influences of satan, sin, and the world. And that truth is found in the Gospel of Mark, chapter 10.

And they brought young children to him, that he should touch them, and his disciples rebuked those that brought them. But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not, for of such is the kingdom of God. Verily, I say unto you, whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein. And he took them up to his arms, put his hands upon them, and blessed them (Mk.10:13-16)

Jesus Christ, the perfect example of the good and godly husbandman, showed every husbandman how to exercise the power and authority of the fatherhood dimension in him as he leads his children.

Jesus did three things which I want you to start doing from today for your children as their father.

Jesus Christ brought the children close to Himself.

And he took them up to his arms (Mk.10:16a)

You must not only be the provider to your child (ren), but you must also have a relationship with them.

Jesus Christ had physical contact with the children.

…Put his hands upon them (Mk.10:16a)

God gives you hands to connect to your children, spiritually, mentally and emotionally. With your hands, you can extend a handshake to your children, hug them, or even tap them on their backs, assuring them that they can succeed, even when the odds are against them.

Jesus Christ entered into the prophetic. Prophets are ordained to pronounce blessings.

And blessed them (Mk.10:16b)

After Jesus Christ had taken the children up in his arms, He placed His hands upon them and blessed them. He did not curse them. You are the prophet over your children. You have authority and power from God to declare the blessings of the Lord upon them and make them a blessing to their world (Is.61:9).

Can you see how powerful you are as the father of your children and the authority God has given to you to motivate, encourage, lead, guard, protect and inspire them unto goodness and godliness (Eph.6:4, Gal.4:19, Deut.6:7-10, Num.6:20-22).

Now, begin to exercise the power and authority of Jesus Christ in your life as the good and godly father to your children.

Hallelujah!

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

• Father, in the Name of Jesus, I thank You for making me the father.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, teach me how to be a model like You to my children.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to function in the office of a prophet over my children.

FAITH CONFESSION

I am delighted that I am the father and I function as a prophet over the lives of my children because that is what makes me the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.

Now that you have read the devotional, it is very important for you to have a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ. It is the first step in your walk of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost.

Please, pray this prayer in faith.

Lord, Jesus, I come to you today, just as I am. I acknowledge that I have fallen short of Your glory. I ask for Your forgiveness of my sins today. I invite You into my life to be my Lord and Saviour. Thank You for saving my life.

• Father, in the Name of Jesus, as I eat, sleep, drink and go from one place to another, let my body not be attracted to sickness, disease or affliction
• Father, in the Name of Jesus and by the power in the blood of Jesus Christ, neutralize every satanic poison in my food or drink
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, even as I unknowingly take deadly substances, let  them not have any effect in my life
