WALKING IN THE NEWNESS OF LIFE (1)

DAY 61 of FASTING AND PRAYER

Bible Texts: Gen.1:26-28, Gen.3:1-5, Rom.8:5-6, 2Cor.5:17, Rom.6:1, Ps.24:1, Gal.6:8, 1Cor.2:14, Jn.3:6, Jn.4:24

We give God all the glory and praise for His grace and help all through the past 60 days of the ongoing 70 days of prayer and fasting. We praise Him for answered prayers and return all the glory to Him for the testimonies. As we enter the last 10days of the fast, I declare the visitation of God in our lives, resulting in all-around transformation, empowerment, and strength for a victorious life.

Now that you have committed yourself to take personal responsibility for your growth and development as the good and godly husbandman, what happens? You become spiritually minded, walking in the newness of life in Christ Jesus.

For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh, but they that are after the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. For to be CARNALLY minded is death, but to be SPIRITUALLY minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God, for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. So, then they that are in the flesh cannot please God (Rom.8:5-8)

I have come to realize that the principal way to enjoy peace and a life of assurance and hope as the godly husbandman is to be spiritual. Being spiritual is what keeps you going as the good and godly man, husband and father. This is why you must take your spiritual life very seriously.

As the husbandman, what does it mean to be spiritually minded and to walk in the newness of life?

It means your life is ruled by the word of God. As the man, husband and father, you read the WORD, meditate on the WORD, believe the WORD, think the WORD, and act on the WORD as a way of life.

It also means that your decisions and actions are influenced and determined by what the Bible says.

It means that the word of God must always take first place over and above your feelings, your emotions, the suggestion of man, and the position of your culture and society.

How do I become spiritual and remain so as the good and godly husbandman?

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

• Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to live by Your Spirit and walk in the newness of life.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, destroy every form of carnality in my life.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, restore to me the joy of my salvation.

 FAITH CONFESSION

I give myself to spiritual demands of prayer, word study, fasting and fellowship with God and walk in the newness of life in Christ Jesus because that is what makes me the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.

Now that you have read the devotional, it is very important for you to have a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ. It is the first step in your walk of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost.

Please, pray this prayer in faith.

Lord, Jesus, I come to you today, just as I am. I acknowledge that I have fallen short of Your glory. I ask for Your forgiveness of my sins today. I invite You into my life to be my Lord and Saviour. Thank You for saving my life.
