But what is the desire of God for you as the husbandman? Where does God want you to be in your relationship with Him? This is our focus today, as we look into the perfect law of liberty, the Bible, for answers.
But God said unto him, thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee, then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided? So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God (Lk.12:20-21)
As the husbandman, it is good to have the material things of life because God wants you to live a comfortable life (3Jn.1:2, Jer.29:11). But what is much more important to God is for you to be rich towards Jesus and live a life that is pleasing to Him through Jesus Christ.
But what will happen to me if I am rich toward God through Jesus Christ?
If you have a quality walk with Jesus, you become empowered by His life to obey His commandments and admonitions for you as the man, husband and father. Your thoughts, conduct and action begin to reflect the nature of Christ because you have the life of Christ in you (2Cor.5:17).
If you are rich toward Jesus, you are assured of a place in eternity, heaven, after your days on earth are over.
As the good and godly husbandman, God wants you more than your material possessions. God wants you more than your title or position. God wants to have a relationship with you. You must make a commitment today to be rich towards God through Jesus Christ, by giving yourself to obey all the commandments of God for you as the man, husband and father.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, forgive me for not giving You first place in my life.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, create in me a clean heart and renew a right spirit within me.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to be rich towards You in all my thoughts and ways.
FAITH CONFESSION
I am rich toward God in all that I think, say and do because that is what defines my heritage as the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
