THE LAW OF THE HUSBAND

Bible Texts: Rom.7:1-2, Matt.22:35-38, 2Cor.5:17, Rom.6:1, Rom.8:1, Rom.7:24-25, Ps.24:1-2, Acts 10:36, Jn.3:5-7, Philp.2:13

Like every other activity of life, such as the law of gravity, the electoral law, and the law of evidence, there is the law of the husband.

Know ye not, brethren, for I speak to them that know the law, how that the law hath dominion over a man as long as he liveth? For the woman which hath an husband is bound by the law to her husband so long as he liveth, but if the husband be dead, she is loosed from the law of her husband (Rom.7:1-2)

Now what is the law of the husband?

The law of the husbandman is the principles of Scriptures which guide, direct, instruct, guard and measure the life of the husbandman to so that he becomes the good and godly man, husband and father.

The law demands that the husbandman must have a solid relationship with God through Jesus Christ (Matt.22:35-38). As the husbandman, your relationship with Jesus Christ is your first commitment and you must love Jesus Christ with all your heart, soul, mind and body. Jesus must be Lord over all in your life, and fellowshipping with Him helps you to have healthy relationships with your wife, your children and others.

You can only do all that the word of God commands you to do as you lead yourself, wife and children by the help of God through His Son, Jesus Christ (Jn.15:5, Philp.2:13). So, without Jesus Christ, you cannot fulfill your mandate and bear fruits as the good and godly husbandman.

If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature; old things have passed away, behold all things have become new (2Cor.5:17)

The law of having a strong and unshakable relationship with Jesus Christ and allowing the love of Christ to dominate your life is what empowers you to become the good and godly husbandman.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

• Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me by the Spirit of love to love You with all my heart, mind, body, spirit and soul.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, let the power of Your love be rooted in my heart.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to bear fruits after Your likeness in my heart, conduct, action, responses and reaction.

FAITH CONFESSION

I love the Lord God with all my heart, soul, body, mind and spirit because that is what makes me the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
