Many husbandmen are struggling to know if what they think, say or do as the man, husband and father, honour Jesus Christ, the perfect example of the good and godly husbandman, their wife, and their children. So, today we want to look into the Word of God to discover the measuring tool for the husbandman.
Finally, brethren, whatever things are TRUE, whatever things are NOBLE, whatever things are JUST, whatever things are PURE, whatever things are LOVELY, whatever things are of GOOD REPORT, if there be anything of virtue and if there is anything PRAISEWORTHY, MEDITATE on these things (Philp.4:8)
The Scripture in Philippians chapter 4 and verse 8 mentions six (6) measuring tools you must always use to determine your thoughts, words, conduct and actions. Now, what are these tools?
Whatever things are true. If what you are thinking or about to say or do is true based on God’s word, go ahead, but if not, don’t.
Whatever things are noble. If what you are thinking or about to say or do is noble, that is, it will bring honour to Jesus, your life, your wife, your children and inspire others to follow Jesus, do it. But if not, don’t.
Whatever things are just. If what you are thinking or about to say or do is just, that is, what you would not want others to do or say to you, based on God’s word, go ahead, but if not, don’t.
Whatever things are pure. If what you are thinking or about to say or do is pure and in good conscience, based on God’s word, go ahead, but if not, don’t.
Whatever things are lovely. If what you are thinking or about to say or do is lovely, that is, expressing the love of Christ according to 1st Corinthians chapter 13 and verse 4 to 8, go ahead, but if not, don’t.
Whatever things are of good report. If what you are thinking or about to say or do will be good report if exposed before God, your wife, your children and those who look to you as a mentor and leader, go ahead, but if not, don’t.
Don’t forget that the mirror of your life as the husbandman is the Word of God. As you study the Word, search the Word, pray the Word, believe the Word and depend on the Person of the Holy Spirit to reveal the power behind the Word, your life be transformed into the image and likeness of Jesus Christ. That is what makes you the good and godly husbandman.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to think, say and do things that will bring honour to Your name, help me to earn respect and dignity from my wife and my children.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, deliver me from the corruption and philosophies of this world and the rudiments of men.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower my life to be ruled by the power of Your word for a fruitful living.
FAITH CONFESSION
I meditate on the word of God which is true, just, pure, lovely, noble and of good report because that is what makes me the good and godly husbandman in Jesus Name. Amen.
