Bible Texts: Rom.13:11-14, Matt.5:14-16, Acts 1:1. Jn.3:5-7, 2Cor.5:17, Rom.6:1, Mk.9:29, Ps.1:1-3, Jn.5:39, 2Tim.2:15, Gal.4:19, Philp.2:13, Philp.4:8
As the husbandman, one of the responsibilities you have towards becoming the good and godly man, husband and father is by making your life to count for Christ each day by your conduct, actions and decisions. This means that whatever you do, say or act on must be in accordance with what the Word of God commands and instructs.
And do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore, let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light. Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in revelry and drunkenness, not lewdness and lust, not in strife and envy. But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lust (Roms.13:11-14)
From the above Scripture, you will note that it began by saying, “and do this, knowing the time”. God wants you to use your time, which is measured by each day, to be useful to Him, to your wife, to your children and to the world. This is why David, a husbandman like you and I, prayed to God to help him number his days.
Now, for you to make each day count for Christ, you must wake up each day with the mind to please God just like Daniel (Dan.1:18). You must completely yield your life, your will, your emotions and your feelings to the Word of God so that the grace of God can be sufficient for you to live each day for Christ.
You must also walk away from excuses and step into spiritual responsibility by departing from your old ways of life of sin and step into the light of Christ in righteousness. You must continue to live the Christ-kind of life in your relationship with your wife, your children and with people in the marketplace (2Cor.5:17).
Each day matter to God; let it also matter to you by making your life count for Christ. It is the pathway to becoming the good and godly man, husband and father.
Hallelujah!
