Bible texts: Mk.9:26-29, Lk.10:19, Lk.18:1, Philp.3:19, 1Cor.7:5, 2Cor.6:5, Ac.13:3
One of the greatest disasters confronting the husbandman these days is his inability to deny himself food for some hours/days. Most husbandmen have become slaves and servants to food instead of master over food. To this end, they have become like ordinary leaders without power and authority. This is why the Scripture in Philippians 3:19 is very important. You must understand who you really are as the husbandman, hence prayer and fasting are the spiritual demands that empowers you to lead with power and authority (Lk.10:19, Lk.18:1, Mk.9:29).
As the head of your family fold, you function at multi-levels. You are a shepherd, a pastor, a priest, a prophet, a bishop and an evangelist. As the pastor, you guide, lead and teach your flock (Eph.5:25-28, Eph.6:4). As priest, you stand in the gap, interceding on their behalf until Christ is formed in them and they fulfill their glorious destinies (Ezk.22:30, Gal.4:19, Lk.1:8-9). As a prophet, you declare the counsel of God over their lives and see it happen after the order of Prophet Samuel. So, you stand on the Word of God and make declarations over your wife and children concerning their health, marriage, career, finances, relationships, spiritual life and much more. As the bishop and evangelist, you keep ministering the Word of God to them until the life of Christ in You speaks loudest in their lives. Achieving all of these is a great task and cannot be fulfilled by your strength (Zech.4:6). This is why fasting and prayer is a requirement.
As the husbandman, you must set aside days of the week when you wait on the Lord in a fast, coupled with prayer. Every time you fast, pray, study and meditate on the Word of God, you gain revelation that empowers you for effective leadership. You need power to function as the good and godly husband, and fasting is the way to go (Lk.10:19). Don’t allow your stomach to control your life.
Hallelujah!

FAITH CONFESSION
