BUILDING YOUSELF BY THE WORD OF GOD

Bible Texts: Heb.4:12-14, 2Cor.3:18, Deut.28:1-2, Gen.8:22, Lk.8:11, Jn.5:39, Ps.119:105, Pro.4:20-23, Ps.12:6, 2Pet.1:7, Jas.3:7, Rev.12:10, Jn.5:39, Job 14:14, Job 6:25

As the husbandman, did you know that the Word of God empowers you to conduct yourself as the good and godly man, husband and father (Jn.8:32, Heb.4:12)? Did you also know that the more you know the Word of God and engage with all it commands you to do, the more Christ-like you become to your wife and your children (2Cor.3:18)?

It is for this reason that you and I must continue to search the Scriptures to find out who God says we are and how He wants us to conduct ourselves.

Search the Scriptures, for in it ye think ye have life (Jn.5:39)

But how powerful is the Word of God that makes me become the good and godly husbandman?

The Word of God shows you the path to walk (Ps.119:105). There is a path that God wants you to walk. It is the path of life, truth and new creation status (2Cor.5:17, Rom.6:1-2). Any other path cannot make you become the good and godly husbandman, except the path of Jesus Christ, because Jesus Christ, the perfect example of the good and godly husbandman, is the way, the truth and the life.

The Word of God makes you see the power and personality of Jesus, thereby strengthening your faith to believe that you can become the good and godly husbandman (Heb.11:2).

The Word of God reveals to you the whole picture of your glorious destiny as the good and godly husbandman, so that no matter the negative experiences you may be having now, you will not give up on God and in His Word (Job 14:14).

But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord (2Cor.3:18)

As you behold the Word of God and engage with it in faith, you will be transformed into the image of Christ in thoughts, conduct and actions. That is how you build your life as the good and godly husbandman.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

• Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to take delight in searching Your Word with all my soul, body and heart.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to engage with all the commandments of Scriptures so I become like Christ to my wife and my children.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, let Your Word gain root in my heart and bear fruit in my life.

FAITH CONFESSION

I keep searching the Word of God and I keep acting on what the Word of God says because that is what empowers me to become the good and godly husbandman in Jesus’ name. Amen.

PRAYER OF SALVATION/REDEDICATION

Now that you have read the devotional, you need to have a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ (1Tim.2:4). It is the first step in your walk of righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.

Please, pray this prayer of salvation in faith.

Lord Jesus, I come to you today just as I am. I acknowledge that I have fallen short of Your glory. I ask for Your forgiveness of my sins today. I invite You into my life to be my Lord and Saviour. Thank You for saving my life.
