HOW TO BECOME A SPIRITUALLY MINDED HUSBANDMAN

Bible Texts: Gen.1:26-28, Gen.3:1-5, Rom.8:5-6, 2Cor.5:17, Rom.6:1, Ps.24:1, Gal.6:8, 1Cor.2:14, Jn.3:6, Jn.4:24

For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh, but they that are after the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. For to be CARNALLY minded is death, but to be SPIRITUALLY minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God, for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. So, then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. (Rom.8:5-8)

God wants the husbandman to be spiritually minded because it is the only way he can prove to his wife, his children and to the world that he is like Christ, the good and godly husbandman. But how does the husbandman take responsibility to be spiritually minded?

First and most important, he must be born again and remain so. Salvation is the first step to a life of spirituality.

The husbandman must engage the weapons of prayer and fasting so he can be empowered to overcome the force of sin, iniquity and the worldly influences (Mk.9:29, Lk.18:1).

The husbandman must keep engaging with the Person of the Holy Spirit by speaking in tongues so you can be bold to refuse evil and its temptations.

The husbandman must choose his relationships and associations wisely because bad company corrupt good manners (1Cor.15:33).

God wants you and I to overcome the filthiness of the tongue, lying and deceit, cheating, fornication and adultery, and all forms of ungodliness. God wants our thoughts, words, actions and conduct towards Him, our wife, our children and to others, to be influenced by the word of God. This is how to be spiritually minded which brings life and peace, making you and I the good and godly husbandman.

Hallelujah!

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

• Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to live by Your Spirit and walk in the newness of life.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, destroy every form of carnality in my life.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, restore to me the joy of my salvation.

FAITH CONFESSION

I give myself to spiritual demands of prayer, word study, fasting and fellowship with God and walk in the newness of life in Christ Jesus because that is what makes me the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.

PRAYER OF SALVATION/REDEDICATION

Now that you have read the devotional, you need to have a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ (1Tim.2:4). It is the first step in your walk of righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.

Please, pray this prayer of salvation in faith.

Lord Jesus, I come to you today just as I am. I acknowledge that I have fallen short of Your glory. I ask for Your forgiveness of my sins today. I invite You into my life to be my Lord and Saviour. Thank You for saving my life.
