HONOUR AND RESPECT

Those things, which ye have both LEARNED, and RECEIVED, and HEARD, and SEEN in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you (Philp.4:9)

Apostle Paul was a man of honour and a respectable personality. And from the Scripture in Philippians chapter 4 and verse 9, we discover the secrets that enabled him to earn a honourable status. It is that secret that I want to share with every husbandman so he can earn the respect and honour he desires from his wife and his children.

Do you know enough to teach your wife and children? Have your wife and your children learnt anything positive from you to make you a reference? You must have the ability to teach them to earn their respect (1Tim.3:2b).

Can your wife and children say they have received any value from you both in words and in deed that they could say has transformed their lives unto goodness and godliness? Have they received from you blessing or cursing, life-transforming words or words of death and destruction?

Can what your wife and your children heard about your conduct in and outside the home make them proud of you or resent you (Matt.5:14-16)? You cannot continue to live an irresponsible life that will bring shame and embarrassment to your wife and children, and you expect them to respect you. Never!

Can you say boldly that your wife and children can emulate what you do at home? You cannot say one thing and they see you do something different. The era of “do what I say and not what I do ” is over.

Do you now see why you have been struggling over the years to earn respect and honour from your wife and children?

You have complained enough, now it is time to act. Be a responsible man, husband and father at the same time by being a good and godly teacher to them, be an example of Christ to them and live a life of honour and respect in the marketplace and be the husbandman of good and godly testimonies.

Hallelujah!

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

• Father, in the Name of Jesus, forgive me for not honouring You with my life each day.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, teach me Your ways and guide me through Your word.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to be the perfect example of the good and godly man, husband and father to my wife, my children and on the marketplace.

FAITH CONFESSION

Today, I choose to be and remain the example of Jesus tin truth and in spirit, o my wife, my children, and in the marketplace because that is what makes me the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.

PRAYER OF SALVATION/REDEDICATION

Now that you have read the devotional, you need to have a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ (1Tim.2:4). It is the first step in your walk of righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.

Please, pray this prayer of salvation in faith.

Lord Jesus, I come to you today just as I am. I acknowledge that I have fallen short of Your glory. I ask for Your forgiveness of my sins today. I invite You into my life to be my Lord and Saviour. Thank You for saving my life.
