For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh, but they that are after the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. For to be CARNALLY minded is death, but to be SPIRITUALLY minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God, for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. So, then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. (Rom.8:5-8)
As the husbandman, there is a life God wants you to live. It is called the newness of life in Christ. God wants you to outgrow your natural and carnal life but to start living according to the Spirit of Christ. You cannot be in the middle. It is either you are walking according to the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus, or you are walking according to the law of the flesh.
Spirituality is profitable in all things, and it is what makes you the good and godly man, husband and father. But you must take personal responsibility to do the following now and continue doing them.
You must be born again and remain in Christ (Jn.3:3-7, 2Cor.5:17). And if you have fallen short of the glory of God, you must rededicate your life back to Jesus Christ.
You must engage and keep pleading the mystery of the blood of Jesus and the communion so you can dislodge the unseen force of satan, sin and the world that wants to hinder you from walking in the spirit (Eph.2:2, Rev.12:11).
You must give yourself to studying your Bible, meditating on the Word of God and praying that the Word have its way into your heart so you can bear fruits outwardly (Jos.1:6-8, Ps.1:1-3, Ezk.2:2, Jn.5:39).
Your life as the husbandman is more than food, clothes, houses, money, fame, or position. God wants you to overcome the filthiness of the tongue, lying and deceit, cheating, fornication and adultery, and all forms of ungodliness (Gal.5:20-23). God wants you to have a quality relationship and fellowship with Him through Jesus Christ, because that is what matters to Him and counts for you in eternity.
Praise be to Jesus Christ. Hallelujah!
SPIRITUAL EXERCISE
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to live by Your Spirit and walk in the newness of life.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, destroy every form of carnality in my life.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, restore to me the joy of my salvation.
FAITH CONFESSION
I give myself to spiritual demands of prayer, word study, fasting and fellowship with God and walk in the newness of life in Christ Jesus because that is what makes me the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
PRAYER OF SALVATION/REDEDICATION
Now that you have read the devotional, you need to have a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ (1Tim.2:4). It is the first step in your walk of righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.
Please, pray this prayer of salvation in faith.
Lord Jesus, I come to you today just as I am. I acknowledge that I have fallen short of Your glory. I ask for Your forgiveness of my sins today. I invite You into my life to be my Lord and Saviour. Thank You for saving my life.
