The proof of good and godly leadership is leading the way and becoming the way. And that is the pathway God wants you to walk in. God wants us to go before your wife and children in all things and at all times.
Thus saith the Lord to his anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have held, to subdue nations before him, and I will loose the loins of king, to open before him the two-leaved gates and the gates shall not be shut. I WILL GO BEFORE THEE…………(Is.45:1-2)
If you understand the structure of a train, you will understand what it means to go before. The engine that leads the coaches is in front. And any direction it goes, the coaches follow. This means that the coaches depend on the train head, that is the engine for direction.
As the husbandman, God wants you to be in the lead and guide the lives of your wife and your children. God wants you to be the engine that gives strength, direction, leadership, support and focus to your wife and children, through your life’s conduct. Just like the train engine that is in front and is being manned by the train driver, you are to lead them from the front.
You must understand that God owns your wife and your children. He gave them to you to steward them as their good and godly shepherd and be accountable for their lives. This is an important assignment you have in addition to being a provider. God wants you to go before them. Therefore, be the example! Be the train-head! That is what makes you the good and godly shepherd to your wife and your children.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to take the lead in my family fold.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me with the spirit of grace and wisdom.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, increase my faith in You and Your Words and deliver me from fear, doubt and discouragement.
FAITH CONFESSION
I give myself to influences of the Word of God, prayer and fasting so I can be empowered to know how to lead, by my conduct, actions, and words, my wife and my children because that is what makes me the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
PRAYER OF SALVATION/REDEDICATION
Now that you have read the devotional, you need to have a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ (1Tim.2:4). It is the first step in your walk of righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.
Please, pray this prayer of salvation in faith.
Lord Jesus, I come to you today just as I am. I acknowledge that I have fallen short of Your glory. I ask for Your forgiveness of my sins today. I invite You into my life to be my Lord and Saviour. Thank You for saving my life.
