I welcome everyone to the new month of November 2026. For all that God has done for us, with us and through us, and for His mercies, favour, protection and presence, we return to Him to all glory, praise and thanksgiving.
Today’s teaching is to help the husbandman to understand that there is an ongoing assault on Christian marriages, and he must rise and contend to stop the attack. The reason for this satanic assault is because the Christian marriage represents heaven’s model of banquet (Marriage supper), and it births good and godly seeds (children) that will continue with the mandate of shining the light of God’s truth to the ends of the earth and stand at the gates of the enemies (Mal.2:14, Matt.5:14-16, Is.61:9).
But why is the husband the one to enforce, maintain and sustain the glorious marriage?
First, the husband is the shepherd of the sheep and sheepfold by virtue of his position as the head in the marriage (Jn.10:2,7, 14). Second, God handed over the wife and home to him and made him the head (Gen.2:18-25, Gen.2:14-16, Matt.19:5-10, 1Tim.3:3-5). Third, it is so that his prayer will not be hindered (1Pet.3:7-9)
As the good and godly husband, you must understand that challenges are inevitable because Jesus says that in this world there shall be challenges but He assures you that you shall have peace. So, for you to become the good and godly shepherd to your sheep, you must be born again and remain so (Jn.3:3-7, 2Cor.5:17, Rom.6:1-2).
You must also see any challenge as trial of our faith (1Pet.1:7). You must also see challenges as an opportunity for God to prove His Almightiness in your marriage (Ex.14:14). You must continue to engage the weapons of prayer and fasting to address the root causes either from you and your actions or from other people and their conduct (Mk.9:29, Lk.18:1, Eph.2:2).
You must continue to engage the weapon of the Word and keep declaring God’s promises openly and not the challenges (Heb.4:12). You must keep pleading the blood of Jesus Christ over the challenges just the same way Jesus said to the storm, “Peace Be Still, and there was great calm” (Rev.12:11).
Dear husbands, you must see your marriage as God’s project and you must take your place as the good and godly shepherd to shield your sheep and sheepfold from the wiles and assaults of satan, sin and the world.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, forgive me for failing in my responsibility as the shepherd.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, stir in my life the spirit of faith, boldness and courage to reign as the good and godly shepherd.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to function in authority and power as the good and godly shepherd.
FAITH CONFESSION
I am the good and godly shepherd, and I exercise authority and power as I lead my life, the lives of my wife and my children in Jesus’ name. Amen.
PRAYER OF SALVATION/REDEDICATION
Now that you have read the devotional, you need to have a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ (1Tim.2:4). It is the first step in your walk of righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.
Please, pray this prayer of salvation in faith.
Lord Jesus, I come to you today just as I am. I acknowledge that I have fallen short of Your glory. I ask for Your forgiveness of my sins today. I invite You into my life to be my Lord and Saviour. Thank You for saving my life.
