Rescued From The Curse

Spread the love

Main Scriptures: Gal.3:13-14

More Scriptures: 2Cor.5:17, Rev.5:9, Is.43:1

I was in church for our annual 21 days of prayer and fasting. Shortly before the communion was served, the pastor led the church to pray for a disconnection from our ancestral lineage. He specifically asked us to pray that whatever our father suffered from shall not be our portion. It was a timely prayer point for every husband. And when I got back to the office the next day, I was studying the book of Galatians when light shone from chapter 3 and verse 13.  It reads, but Christ has rescued us from the curse pronounced by the law. When He was hung on the Cross, He took upon Himself the curse for our wrongdoing. For it is written in the Scriptures, cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree (NLT)

As the husband and the head of your family, you may have noticed some trend in your family lineage-some negative occurrences that have repeated themselves from generation to generation. It may be in areas of finances, health, marriage, child bearing, education, etc. And perhaps, you are afraid that your sheepfold may suffer the same satanic repetition of evil. I want to assure that you have nothing to fear because Jesus Christ has rescued us from the curse of the law. Jesus Christ died for us so that we can be free from the consequences of the actions or inactions of our forefathers. The Scripture has this assurance policy for you from 2 Corinthians 5 and verse 17. If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature, old things have passed away, behold all things have become new.

But for you to live in this realm where you and your flock are exempted from generational curses, you must be born again. This demands that you must surrender your life to Jesus, the curse dissolver (please see the inside back page for prayer of salvation). And if by chance, you have backslidden, you can rededicate your life to Jesus Christ. He is the God of several chances. Secondly, you must live in the consciousness of your new creation status. Your new birth in Jesus translates you from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of light which is ruled by Jesus Christ. So, being a godly husband is not just about you, it is about creating a new generation of seeds that will bear glorious fruits. That is your mandate.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

·         Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me with the consciousness of who I am in Christ Jesus.

·         Father, in the Name of Jesus, let the reality of a far above mentality be evident in my life and my family.

·         Father, in the Name of Jesus, make my new creation status a reality in my family fold.

FAITH CONFESSION

I am seated with Jesus Christ, far above the curses of life and of the law, because that is where I belong as a good and godly husband in Jesus Name. Amen.
