The Husband Without Defects

Spread the love

Main Scriptures: Lev.1:1-3

More Scriptures: 2Cor.7:1, Rom.12:2, 2Pet.3:14

The Lord called to Moses from the Tabernacle and said to him, give the following instructions to the people of Israel. When you present an animal as an offering to the Lord, you may take it from your herd of cattle or your flock of sheep and goats. If the animal you present as a burnt offering is from the herd, it must a male WITH NO DEFECTS.  Bring it to the entrance of the Tabernacle as you may be accepted by the Lord (Lev.1:1-3) NLT

One of the forces you must resist steadfastly as the head of your family is sin and all forms of unrighteousness. As the leader in your family fold, you must be very careful how you live your life. You must understand that living a riotous life not only displeases God, it also creates a barrier between you and God. According to Scripture, the hand of God is not short to help or His ears deaf to hear but our iniquity has created a gulf between us and God. Now, there are two levels of defects you must be aware of and that you must resist. It is found in 2Cor.7:1. Because we have these promises, dear friends, let us cleanse ourselves from everything that can defile our body or spirit. And let us work toward complete holiness because we fear God. There are actions you take that corrupt your spirit and there are those that defile your body. For example, drunkenness, stealing, adultery, lying, beating your flock are signs of bodily defilement, while bitterness, unforgiveness, envy and pride and bad will are signs of spiritual defilement. It doesn’t matter the offence your wife and children may have committed against you, you must never allow the seeds of defilement gain root in your life.

God wants you to present your life as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable (Rom.12:1-3). When you deal with every defect in your life, you gain access to the throne of God. And from His presence, He gives you direction and inspiration on how to handle your wife and children (Ps.24:1-3). You need so much of God’s wisdom in handling your flock and holiness is your pathway. So, walk in righteousness because it is profitable unto all things.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

·         Father, in the Name of Jesus, fill me with the Spirit of holiness and pureness of heart and let me speak the truth from my inward heart.

·         Father, in the Name of Jesus, cleanse my heart and spirit man from every hidden sin.

·         Father, in the Name of Jesus, let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart come to You as a sweet smelling savour.

FAITH CONFESSION

I walk in pureness of my heart toward You and my flock because that is what creates a glorious pathway for me as a good and godly husband to my wife and children in Jesus Name. Amen.
