When God Cannot Help You

Spread the love

Main Scriptures: Deut.7:17

More Scriptures: Heb.11:3, Mk.11:24, Mk.13:31

If thou shalt say in thine heart, these nations are more than I, how can I dispossess them? (Deut.7:17)

Everytime I study this verse of Scripture and the more I meditate on it, the more I realize that God is willing to help me if only I agree that He can. So, God will assist you only to the extent that you admit that you need Him and believe that He can help you. This is why the word of God tells us that if any man must come to God, he must believe that God is able to reward faith (Heb.11:6). As the head of the family, there is no challenge that you have with your sheep that you cannot overcome. There is nothing that the devil throws at you with the intention to defile you that cannot be overrun (2Cor.7:1). God has the power to help you ride over anger, bitterness, barrenness, unforgiveness, bad will and malicious gossips that you may have against your wife or children or any other person. All you have to do is to ask the Lord to help you and believe in your heart that He can. Do not let satan sell you a dummy that you cannot be free from these dirty habits.

However, there is a place where you must reset, first and very importantly, in your life. It is not your eyes. It is not your ears. It is also not your body. It is your heart. Your heart remains the seat of your decision. In fact, everything around you responds to what is settled in your heart. If your heart agrees that it is wrong to cheat on your wife or be bitter against your sheep, no satanic attraction will entice you to do otherwise. This is why the word of God advises you that with the heart man believes and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation (Rom.10:10). A lot of the time as husbands, what we say with our mouth does not agree with what we believe God can do in our heart.

So, what must you do to make your spirit man trust the ability of God to transform your wife and children from disrespectful people to honourable sheep? The first step is to increase your knowledge of God and His acts. The more you know who God is and what He has done for you and others, the stronger your faith in His ability to help you. The second step is for you to guard your heart with all your strength by controlling what you read, hear and the places you go and the relationships you keep (Ps.1:1-4). Study materials that will wet your faith rather than starve it. God is ready to help you. Are you ready to trust Him? Jesus Christ is Lord over all.
