Jesus Christ, The Good Shepherd

Spread the love

Main Scriptures: Jn.3:14-17

More Scriptures: Jn.8:11, Jn.14:18, Jn.16:24

And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up. That whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world but that the world through him might be saved. (Jn.3:14-17)

Jesus Christ is the perfect example of a good and godly husband and He has shown husbands how to conduct their lives. The Bible describes Him as the Bridegroom of the Church in the same way you are the bridegroom to your wife. In Ephesians 5:23, the Scripture says that the husband is the head of the wife and he should love her in the same manner Jesus Christ relates with the Church. The coming of Jesus Christ brought joy to the world. That’s what you are ordained for-to bring joy into the lives of your wife and children. God sent you to your sheep as an agent of joy and not sorrow. You are not an instrument of unrighteousness but of good works. You are not ordained by God to lead your family to destruction. All you are and all you will ever be must be for the blessings of your wife and children.

Today, the husband, Jesus Christ, is being celebrated all around the world. Are members of your family celebrating you in their lives? Do they see you as a plus or a good riddance to bad rubbish? Can your wife and children be proud to tell others about you? However, for you to be like Jesus, you must decide in your heart to make Him your example. In Heb.12:1-3, the Scripture says, looking unto Jesus Christ, the Author and Finisher of our faith. No mentor will force himself on a prospective mentee. It is the willingness of the mentee to accept the mentor that gives value to the relationship. Also, you must do the works of Jesus Christ. Jesus speaking said that by their fruits, you shall know them. As the head of your family, you are a fruit bearing tree. It is not enough for you to talk about Jesus Christ. It is much more important for you to live out His life through you in the direction of your wife and children. You are their epistle. Your life must speak louder than your voice. And as you engage in these godly steps toward becoming a good and godly husband, you are leaving behind a lasting legacy for your wife and children. You are also going to enjoy sweet fellowship with the Person and Power of the Holy Spirit.
