The Risen Saviour

Spread the love

Main Scriptures: John 10:7-10

More Scriptures: 2Cor.3:8, Rom.1:17, Gal.3:5

Therefore Jesus said again, very truly I tell you, I am the gate for the sheep. All who have come before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep have not listened to them. I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. They will come in and go out and find pasture (Jn.10:7-9) NIV

You are the risen savior in your sheepfold. God has brought you into the lives of your sheep to save them from every assault of the devil. And that is what the Person of the Holy Spirit is trying to teach you as the head of your family. It is important for you to know that everything that Jesus did and is still doing as a Husband and Head of the Church is what He has enabled you to do to your wife and children. Now let us consider some of the pictures of Jesus as the risen saviour. Jesus Christ is warm and accessible. He guides and protects His sheep. In Jn.10:11, the Scripture says, I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep…………. . As the head of your family, God has given you the grace to be like Jesus. So whatever makes Jesus good to His disciples and the world at large is available to you. It is your heritage to be a good and godly husband. It gives Him joy when He sees you act like He would in the way you relate with your wife and children. Jesus Christ is the perfect example of how husbands are expected to conduct the affairs of their family kingdom. He left behind examples for you to follow.

Therefore, whatever makes you to act as an ungodly husband is of the devil and must be resisted. But for you to be as good as Jesus, you must have a personal relationship with Him. In Jn.3:3, Jesus said, “verily, verily I say unto thee, except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. What does it mean to be born again? It means surrendering your life to Jesus and making Him your Lord and Saviour, where He takes absolute control of your life and decisions. So I encourage you to please see the back page of this devotional and pray the prayer of salvation. Thereafter, I encourage you to join a Bible believing church where you will be taught the complete truth of God’s word. Secondly, you must give yourself to the study of word of God because that is your source where you draw wisdom, strength and ability to be like Him to your wife and children. The word of God is like a glass. So the more you look at it, the more you act like what it says. Therefore, you must remain focused on your assignment as the shepherd of your sheep (Matt.6:22)
