BUILDING ON THE MOMENTUM (2)

Spread the love

Main Scriptures: Hab.2:3-4

More Scriptures: Pro.16:17, 1Cor.15:33, Jas.3:10

Yesterday, we considered the first choice we must make as heads of our families toward building on the momentum of becoming the good and godly leader. Today, let me share with you the second. It is faith. As the head of your family, you must understand that faith in God is a lifestyle. It is like the air you breath in and the food you eat. Your capacity to triumph over the challenges that confront you in the course of leading your wife and children is dependent on the quality of your walk of faith in God. For the vision is yet for an appointed time but at the end it shall speak and not lie, though it tarry, wait for it because it will surely come, it will not tarry. Behold his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him, but the just shall live by his faith (Hab.2:3-4). So, you can see that faith is not just wishful thinking, it is a lifestyle. You must decide to take God at His word. If He says that your wife and children are wonderfully and fearfully made, walk in that light and believe Him. If God tells you that your wife is your helpmeet, believe Him. If God tells you from His word that your children are the head and not the tail, and that they shall be above only and beneath. Agree with God that it is the truth. If God tells you from His word that your sheepfold is a compact and united unit, just take Him at His word and believe Him. This is what the Scripture says about the importance of faith that you must live by. Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by faith the elders obtained a good report. But without faith it is impossible to please God, for he that cometh to God must believe that he is and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him (Heb.11:1,2,6).

So, you can see that faith is a vital weapon you must carry with you this year to overcome the attacks, challenges, and obstacles on your way to becoming the good and godly husband. Now three things happen when you walk in faith. The first is that it builds confidence in you so that you do not cave in to world, sin and satan. When any of your sheep misbehaves or is being challenged in their health, education, marriage, career, or any other area, you confront the negative situation rather than run away. Do not be afraid. The second result when you walk in faith is that you are stable in your thoughts and actions. When challenges that threaten to destroy your sheepfold come up between you and your wife or children, you do not become confused or act without wisdom or direction. Through faith, you are able to bring the pressures under control.  Thirdly, you are filled with hope to the extent that you will not give up on your wife and children notwithstanding the unpleasant and negative manifestations from your sheep. That is the joy of faith and you need it.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, baptize me with a higher level of faith and help me to live by it for the benefit of my sheep.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, deliver me from the spirit and power of doubt.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, reward me with outstanding results as I walk and live by faith.

FAITH CONFESSION

I am committed to live by faith and not by sight because that is what empowers me to function as the good and godly husband to my wife and children in Jesus Name. Amen.
