YOU SET THE FOUNDATION

Spread the love

Main Scriptures: Zech.4:8-9

More Scriptures: Gen.2:5, Pro.14:34, Acts 20:32

Moreover, the word of the Lord came unto me, saying. The hands of Zerubbabel have laid the foundation of this house, his hands shall also finish it, and thou shalt know that the Lord of hosts hath sent me unto you (Zech.4:8-9). As the head of the family and the source of your wife and children, it is very important to know that you are the foundation upon which your sheep stands. You lay it and your job is to complete the building process. The Bible passage in Zech.4:8-9 says that the hands of Zerubbabel had laid the foundation of this house and his hands also shall finish it. As the shepherd over your sheep, there is so much that you can do with your hands. God has given you the home to build. And God took the man that He hath formed and put him in the Garden and commanded him to tend and work it…….(Gen.2:14). And like in every building, there is a foundation and if the foundation is not strong enough what is built upon it will collapse. This means that the strength of your family is a function of the quality of the foundation that you have laid. The second thing you need to know is that God wants you to complete the foundation with all that is required to make it stronger. If you understand these truths, you will not take any chance on your wife, children and sheepfold.

So, what do I need to lay the foundation? The first is that you need the material of truth and righteousness. The Scripture says this about the importance of righteousness. Righteousness exalts (Pro.14:34). You do not build the foundation of your sheepfold on lies and deceit. You must be the leader who loves the Lord and obeys all His commandments. You must be the shepherd who speaks the truth and hates evil. You must also be the priest who does the right thing as the man, husband and father to his wife, children and humanity. And when you do that, you and your family shall be promoted and there shall be peace in your sheepfold. Secondly, you must use the material of the word of God. The Bible says that the word of God is able to build (Acts 20:32)…. You must live your life by the dictates of the word of God and allow it to influence the decision you take as the shepherd of your sheep. And by this truth your wife and children will know that the Bible is their guide. So, as they meet with other people and take decisions about the issues of life, they have the WORD FOUNDATUON from where to draw direction from.

You must understand that you are the very image of God as the Good Shepherd to your sheep. You must give it all it takes because that is what translates you into the good and godly husbandman.

FAITH CONFESSION

I take the responsibility to lay the God-kind of foundation for my sheepfold and it will influence my wife’s and children’s decisions because I long to become the good and godly husband in Jesus Name. Amen.
