YOUR SHEEP SHELF LIFE

Spread the love

Main Scripture: Mal.2:14-17

More Scriptures: Eph.5:27, Gen.2:14, Mal.2:14

Every product has its shelf life. So, you find most products have expiry dates. And once the products are unsold before the expiration dates, they are discarded or destroyed. That’s the way of the products made by man. But today we are considering God’s product-your wife and children. Unlike the products made by man, your wife and children are given to you to last forever. Your wife and children are products of God. And God said that it is not good for the man to be alone. I will make for him a help meet for him (Gen.2:18). So, in verse 22 of genesis chapter 2, God created the office of the wifehood and put the woman in it to occupy it as the wife. And that office has existed since creation till date. Your wife was created by God and the office she occupies as your wife was also created by God. Furthermore, your children are products from the Lord. He made them. He gave value to your sexual relationship with your wife resulting to the birth of your children. So, Boaz took Ruth and she was his wife and when he went in unto her, the Lord gave her conception and she bare a son (Ruth 4:13).

Now that you know that your wife and children are products from God, what is their shelf life? The answer in Matthew chapter 19. He answered, haven’t you read in your Bible that the Creator originally made man and woman for each other, male and female? And because of this, a man leaves father and mother is firmly bonded to his wife, becoming one flesh-no longer two bodies but one. Because God created this organic union of the two sexes, no one should desecrate his art by cutting them apart (Matt.19:4-6) Message Bible.

God produced your sheep and gave them to you to last forever. They don’t have expiry dates. God did not only create them for you, they are also sent to you to enjoy them. In Malachi chapter 2 and verse 14, the Scripture has this to say. …….And yet is she thy companion and the wife of thy covenant……..For the Lord, the God of Israel saith that he hateth putting away, for one covereth violence with his garment, saith the Lord of hosts, therefore take heed to your spirit that ye deal not treacherously (Mal.2:14-16). As the head of the family and the shepherd over the sheep of God, you have a responsibility to secure your sheepfold from the assault of separation, divorce and abandonment. You must continually act as the protector. You must not get tired of your wife and children neither should you see your relationship with your sheep as a burden. Work with the Person of the Holy Spirit to help you renew the value you have placed on your sheep. You must nurture and work on your sheep and sheepfold because that is the only way you can enjoy them.
