LEADERSHIP IN THE SHEEPFOLD (2)- BE A THINKER

Spread the love

Main Scriptures: 1Tim.3:1-7

More Scriptures: Gen.2:15, Ezk.34:23, Jn.10:11

A leader must be well-thought of……….(1Tim.3:2)

As the leader of your sheepfold, the first quality you must strive to possess is that you must be a thinker. What does this mean? It means you must have an excellent spirit which is from God. When you have this Spirit working inside of you, you cannot be stranded or confused about what to do concerning that challenge you are having with your sheep. When this Spirit is inside of you, you will know what to do to escape the obstacles that satan, sin and the world have set on your path-be it spiritual, financial, health, business, career. It is this same spirit at work in the life of Daniel that made him able to interprete the king’s dream with clarity and precision. For an excellent spirit was in Daniel (Dan.5:12).

It is due to lack of godly leadership that you do not know what to do about that challenge you have with your wife or children. As the head of your home, you must know what to do to settle that continuous rift between you and your sheep; you must know what to do to make your barren wife fruitful; you must know what to do to secure the financial destiny of your sheepfold; you must know what to do to handle the consistent academic and health challenges of your sheep. Do you know why you have such tremendous capabilities? It is because you have the mind of Christ. And Jesus Christ, who is the perfect example of the good and godly husband, was never stranded. At every point of His leadership functions when He had to confront challenges and questions from His disciples, He had solutions for them. With Peter’s mother-in-law, who was sick, He healed her. For Peter who was drowning, He stretched forth His hands and rescued Him. For Thomas who consistently doubted Him, He offered him hope and trust. For the calamity that was to befall the boat in which He and His disciples were in, He said, peace ….. be still, and there was a great calm.

The Bible has this to say about you. I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me. And the Scripture says, let this mind be in you even the mind of Christ (Philips.4:13). But for you to operate as the good and godly shepherd in your sheepfold at the level that Jesus operates with the church, you must turn from your wicked ways and accept Him as your Lord and personal savior. Salvation is the first key that gives you access to enjoy the flow of wisdom that makes you think a way out of that challenge you currently have. So, I encourage you to invite Jesus Christ into your life right now (see inside back page for prayer of salvation). Secondly, you must connect with the Person of the Holy Spirit. Thirdly, always ask the Person of the Holy Spirit “What do I do next?” There is always something to do. Ask Him.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, I ask You to forgive me of my trespasses and I invite You into my life as my Lord and Personal Saviour.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, fill me with the Spirit of wisdom and excellence.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, give me hearing ears and seeing eyes and help me to follow Your instruction.

FAITH CONFESSION

I receive the Spirit of excellence and by it I lead my wife and children triumphantly because that is what makes me the good and godly husband to my sheep in Jesus Name. Amen.

Amazing topic. May our good Lord continue to fill us with that excellent spirit to lead our wives and children aright. In Jesus name, Amen.
