REPEAT THE GOOD ACT!

Spread the love

Main Scriptures:  Philippians 4:13

More Scriptures: Jn.15:5, Acts10:38, Job 14:7

I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. Notwithstanding ye have well done, that ye did communicate with my affliction (Philippians 4:13) KJV

One of the ways satan frustrates the godly husbandman is to make him feel that he cannot repeat those godly acts of forgiveness, mercy, giving and so much more that he used to do to his sheep. The devil reminds him of the offences of his wife and children and gives him reasons why he must hold back those righteous deeds of Jesus. He tells the husbandman; you cannot do it. You are incapable. So, if you are reading this devotional and it seems you have found yourself in such a situation, I want you to know that satan is a liar. You can do all things. Yes, you can forgive, be kind and be merciful to your sheep. As the good shepherd over the sheep of God in your custody, you can repeat those good and godly acts you once demonstrated to your wife and children. And because they are righteous acts, your wife and children cannot be tired to receive from you.  This is the message for you today.

As a god in your sheepfold, it is too early for you to quit believing that your wife can be restored. It is too early to be discouraged that your children can not be rescued from the influences of sin, the world and satan. The Scriptures say you can do all things (Philippians 4:13). This is not a statement of a promise but of determination and commitment. It is true that your wife and children have offended you greatly. It may even seem that your efforts to correct them seem not to yield any result. Don’t give up. God is saying, no. There is hope. The Scriptures say there is hope of a tree, if it be cut down (Job 14:7). And the Bible also says that we should not live as though we have no hope. So, the foundation of your hope is in Christ Jesus. Without Him, you cannot do anything. Your education may fail you. Your skill or money will fail you. Honestly, your education or wealth will not be able to rescue your irresponsible and insubordinate sheep. There are many rich husbands who have very uncomfortable relationships with their wives and children. It is only in Jesus Christ who is the perfect example of the good and godly man, husband and father, can you receive the strength to love your sheep as He has loved the church. (Eph.5:25).

One very important force you must continue to resist is offence. Offence is satanic and it breeds enmity between you and your sheep. And that is what satan uses. So, you plead the power in the blood of Jesus Christ and His word. Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good (Romans 12:21). Don’t stop your acts of kindness, mercy, help, provision and protection. Keep working. Keeping doing good. It is worth it.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, deliver me from every spirit of bitterness, unforgiveness and hatred I have against my wife and children.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, let Your love overwhelm my life and help me to extend same to my sheep.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, revive my love for my family again.

FAITH CONFESSION

I am revived by the Spirit of God to continue to extend the love of Jesus Christ to my wife and children because that is what makes me the good and godly husband in Jesus Name. Amen.
