THE LORDSHIP OF THE HUSBAND (2)

Spread the love

Main Scriptures: Rom. 13:1-2

More Scriptures: Gen.1:28, Gen.2:14, Eph.5:25

It is not enough for you to know that you are the lord in your family kingdom. It is the knowledge that you have applied that brings you the rewards of being the man of authority and power. Like I have always said, talk is cheap and results require hard work, diligence and commitment. So, you may want to ask, how you can I operate the fullness of my lordship in my family fold? For you to operate in higher realms of influence even as you lead your wife and children, you must be guided by the instructions of God for your position as a husband as contained in the Bible. The Bible remains your road map. It contains every ingredient and nutrients you will need to operate in the realm of affluence and influence. It is your life wire.

After God created Adam in Gen.1:26-28, He personally took him to the Garden of Eden, which symbolizes the home. And thereafter, God gave him instructions (Gen.2:14). God commanded him to keep and tend the garden. God also instructed him on what type of fruits to eat and what not to eat. Unfortunately, he failed the test and commandments. There are many instructions God has given for your position as the head of your family in His word. The proof that He is Lord over all, in your life is your complete obedience to all that He has commanded you to do. You must seek to please God in all things because His commendation is what validates your position as a good and godly husband. I remarked that until Jesus becomes the Lord over all in your life, you cannot become lord over all in the lives of your flock. Your wife and children may not be the best. They may have failed you or are weak in so many areas. Yet, you must deal with them on account of the word and love of God. Make Him your Lord and watch Him empower you to become a man of authority and influence in the lives of your flock.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to continue to subject my life to Your will and instructions.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, teach me Your ways and help me to follow You faithfully.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, deliver me from the force of pride and a haughty spirit.

FAITH CONFESSION

I subject my will and emotions and decisions to the influence of Jesus Christ and His word because that is what empowers my influence as a good and godly husband over my wife and children in Jesus Name. Amen.
