THE HUSBAND WHO FASTS AND PRAYS (1)

Spread the love

Main Scriptures: Acts 14:22-23

More Scriptures: Mk.9:29, Lk.9:28-29, 2Cor.11:27

Some people believe that fasting is an outdated doctrine. Others believe that it is not needed in the dispensation of grace. Sadly, a lot of husbands have continued to believe these lies and consequently have lost their authority and power over the forces of darkness. Let me begin by saying that any husband who must command authority over the works of the enemies must be a man who fasts and prays. Any husband who wants to grow from being a child who feeds on milk to a mature man who feeds on strong meat, he must fast and pray. Any husband who wants to continue to generate amazing testimonies in his family fold must give himself to a life of fasting and prayers.

Unfortunately, many husbands who should be in charge of the affairs of their flock are running around looking for someone to lay hands on them or pray for them. As a husband, you are the first priest, pastor, prophet and bishop over the lives of your wife and children. You are the Moses in their lives, standing firm with the rod to part the sea, command their freedom and establish them in their places of honour and dignity. In Acts 14:23, the Apostles enhanced their ability to choose the right elders after they had prayed and fasted. And when they had ordained them elders in every church, and had prayed with fasting, they commended them to the Lord, on whom they believed (Acts 14:23). Jesus speaking in Mk.9:29 says, this kind goeth not forth except by prayers and fasting.

As a husband, you must understand that God wants you to grow in power. God wants you to exercise authority and power over every challenge that the enemy may throw at you, your wife and children. God wants you to sharpen your spiritual antenna to pick signals from the spirit realm. God wants to work His marvelous works in the lives of your wife and children through you, just the same way He did it for the people of Israel through Moses.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, deliver me from power of the belly.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, impart me with the Spirit of diligence and discipline.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, help me not be weary of spiritual exercises.

FAITH CONFESSION

I engage in a lifestyle of prayer and fasting because that is what empowers me as a good and godly husband to triumph in all circumstances of life in my family fold in Jesus mighty Name. Amen.

God bless sir. I decree in the name of Jesus Christ that whatever was responsible for your wife’s expulsion from school shall reversed and he shall be reinstated very shortly and whatever he may have lost as a result of his expulsion shall be regained.

      Halleluyah
