CAN YOU LOSE YOUR HEADSHIP? (2)

Spread the love

Main Scriptures: Ezk.34:1-2

More Scriptures: Acts 3:5, Gen.7:24, Gen.2:18

Yesterday, we saw from Scriptures that it is possible for the husbandman to lose his headship if he continues in the path of dishonor and destruction. He loses his authority and voice (influence). And if he refuses to turn a new leaf, the hedge around him will be broken and the serpent will bite, dangerously. The Scripture in Rom.6:1 has this to say. What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? Know ye not that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey, whether of sin unto death or of obedience unto righteousness (Rom.6:1, 16). You are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus, so you cannot yield your life to sin and its attraction.

However, for you not to lose your authority as the head of your family, you must watch and pray. Jesus Christ, who is the perfect example of a good and godly husband, says watch and pray that you will not fall into temptation. One of the ways to lose your authority, is to fall into temptation. Temptation to mistreat your flock as their shepherd is common to all but you must not fall into. You must resist every temptation thrown at you by satan by partnering with the Person of the Holy Spirit. The Scripture says that you resist him steadfastly. Another step you must take is to guard and guide what gets into your heart. Your heart is the seat of your decision. What you allow into your heart determines what you give out. According to the word of God, a good vine produces good fruits and bad vine produces bad fruits. The Scripture says, guard your heart with all diligence, for out of it are the issues of life. So, to determine what gets into your heart, you must control what you hear, watch, see or surround yourself with. You must be mindful of the traditions of men and rudiments of the world. You must be ruled and guided by the word of God and His commandments because that is what secures your headship.
