CASTING DOWN IMAGINATIONS (1)

Casting down imaginations and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ. And having in readiness to revenge all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled (2Cor.10:5-6).

One area and the most important battle you must fight as a husband is imaginations that are contrary to the will of God. As a husband who strives to become a good and godly husband, you must guard the thoughts that you allow to gain root in your heart. The reason is because if you don’t treat ungodly thoughts the same way you treat weed, it may choke the good thoughts that you already have in your heart towards God and your flock. You must understand that as a husband, your life and actions will gravitate towards the imaginations of your hearts. In fact, godly imagination is more like a mental picture or image of your life, God and your wife and children. The total sum of your thoughts is what forms the image that you want to see manifest physically in the lives of your flock.

Just the same way an apple does not fall far way from its tree, so do your actions whether positive or negative towards your flock. The Scripture admonishes that you guard your heart with all diligence because out of it are the issues of life. Bitterness, anger, envy, unforgiveness, self-centeredness, covetousness and the likes are issues of life that defile the life of any husband. So, as the head of your family, you must fight to ensure that wrong pictures that contradict the word of God do not set in your heart.

But how do I cast down imaginations that want to exalt itself against the knowledge of God in my life as the head of my family?

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

• Father, in the Name of Jesus, create in me a clean heart and renew a right spirit in me.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, deliver me from the power of sin and death.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, give me victory over the force of ungodly imaginations.

FAITH CONFESSION

I bring to captivity every ungodly imagination so that I will reign in life because that is what validates my position as a good and godly husband to my wife and children in Jesus Name. Amen.
