GUARD YOUR MIND, BE LIKE CHRIST
Bible Texts: Rom.12:1-3, Gen.1:26-28, Eph.5:25, Ps.92:1-2, 1Cor.13:4-7, Rom.5:5, Philp.4:8, Eph.6:4, 1Pet.5:8, Eph.6:6, Rom.12:21
Many husbands want to be the good and godly shepherd by being faithful, loyal and honest to their wife, but still struggle to live this righteous life, because they do not know how. So, today, I want to share with you where the change you want to see in your life begins from.
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is good and perfect will of God (Rom.12:1-3)
Your desire to become the good and godly husbandman begins by renewing your mind with the Word of God. Your actions, conduct and responses to your wife and your children are products of what is in your mind, because out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks. This is why you must continue to feed your mind with the Word of God by reading, listening and hearing, so you can be like Jesus Christ in every way.
However, you must understand that because of the power of the mind, satan, sin and the world want to dominate your mind with their thoughts, imaginations and wishes. This is why the greatest battle is of the mind. But thanks be to Jesus Christ, Who causes us to triumph always.
Therefore, engage with the Person of the Holy Spirit for the spirit of truth and revelation, and engage the pleading blood of Jesus Christ over every ungodly thought trying to gain root in your mind. And as you bring every thought that wants to exalt itself against the knowledge of Christ into captivity and you exalt the Words of Christ in your mind, your life will be changed from glory to glory as the good and godly husbandman.
Hallelujah!
SPIRITUAL EXERCISE
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to renew my thoughts with Your word and make me conform to Your will.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to overcome evil thoughts with good thoughts.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, and by Your Word make my life to count positively as the good and godly man, husband and father.
FAITH CONFESSION
I take captive my thoughts and bring them under the authority of the will and plan of God by renewing my mind with the word of God, because that is what makes me the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
