WALK AND WORK WITH THE TRUTH

Many times, the husbandman blames his wife, his children, his environment, and even his circumstances as the reason why he is not conducting himself as the good and godly husbandman. But that is not true. The reason why he is not bearing the fruit of the Spirit is because he keeps doing everything against the truth of God’s word, and that is what God doesn’t want him to do.

Now I pray to God that ye do no evil not that we should appear approved, but that ye should do that which is honest, though we be as reprobates. For we can do nothing against the truth but for the truth (2Cor.13:7-8)

An important prayer, you and I must pray as husbandmen is to walk and work with the truth of God’s word, His instructions, and His directions for our lives, as we lead at the home front and in the marketplace. A lot of the times, we complain about how unruly our wives are and how disrespectful our children are, but we forget that our conduct, actions, and misbehaviour are working against the truth that God wants us to live by, which they can see.

Your wife and your children are not the problem. It is your refusal to do what the Word of God commands you to do as the man, husband and father that is the problem. Each time you try to excuse your ungodly conduct by blaming others, you will not see your faults are and you will now grow that way.

The Word of God is truth. You cannot do anything against it. Neither your opinion, culture, tradition, or even the rudiments of the world can ever change the truth of God’s word. So, the earlier you walk and work with the word of God for your life as the man, husband and father, the better you become the good and godly husbandman.

Therefore, do what the Word of God in 2 Corinthians chapter 13 verses 7 through to 8 tells you to do. It says, do no evil to them but what is honest; do not argue with the instructions and commandments of the Word of God for you as the man, husband and father in the home, but submit yourself to complete obedience. That is what makes you the good and godly husbandman.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

• Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to obey You and Your word wholeheartedly.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, deliver me from every spirit of fear and unbelief.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, let Your word take root in my heart and let it bear fruit in my life.

FAITH CONFESSION

I stand firmly on the Word of God; I believe and act on all it commands me to do because it is my sure foundation to becoming the good and godly husbandman in Jesus Name. Amen.

PRAYER OF SALVATION/REDEDICATION

Now that you have read the devotional, you need to have a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ (1Tim.2:4). It is the first step in your walk of righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.

Please, pray this prayer of salvation in faith.

Lord Jesus, I come to you today just as I am. I acknowledge that I have fallen short of Your glory. I ask for Your forgiveness of my sins today. I invite You into my life to be my Lord and Saviour. Thank You for saving my life.
