FROM THE BEGINNING (2)

Spread the love

Main Scriptures: Gen.2:15-16

More Scriptures: Matt.19:5, 1Tim.5:8, Mal.2:14

And the Lord God took the man and put him into the garden of Eden to dress and to keep it. And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat. (Gen.2:15-16)

In the beginning, God created you and made you to be responsible (Gen.2:14). If you are still dependent on your parents or friends or even your wife in whatever way, then know that you have deviated from the plan of God for your life. If you run a quick check on your headship, can you safely say that you are indeed the head of your family? Who pays the rent? Who pays the children’s school fees? Who foots the bills at home? If you are not the one but your wife or your parents, please bow down your head in shame. God took responsibility for the creation of the whole earth. In Gen.1:1-3, the Scripture has this to say. In the beginning God created the heaven and earth (Gen.1:1). That is the image you are to project.

In fact, the first assignment that God gave to man was work. God took the man and placed him in the Garden and commanded him to tend and dress it. (Gen.2:14).  In the beginning, God had a plan and that is you and your wife shall be one flesh and not in the transference of covenant responsibilities. In one flesh, you and your wife walk in agreement toward His instructions and His will. God never recommends that divorce is the option. He never did. And did not he make one? (Mal.2:15). In Matt.19:5, Jesus Christ, reaffirms what was covenanted in the beginning because He was in the beginning. Wherefore they are no more twain but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let no man put asunder. So, as the commander in chief, you must not succumb to the offer of divorce. It was not so from the beginning and it will not be in the end.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, teach me Your ways and empower me to walk therein, faithfully.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, deliver me from the deceitfulness of life and philosophies of men.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, uphold me with Your right hand of righteousness and help me to take the right decisions.

FAITH CONFESSION

I hold onto the landmarks of God, the Head of the husbandman because that is my security to becoming a good and godly husband in to my wife and children in Jesus Name. Amen.
