DILIGENCE IS GAINFUL (2)

Spread the love

Main Scriptures: Pro.12:26-27

More Scriptures: Jn.17:4, Gal.6:4, Pro.22:29

The slothful man roasteth not that which he took in hunting but the substance of diligent man is precious (Pro.12:27).

No lazy husband ever makes any positive impact on earth. The future of a lazy husband is very bleak. And it is ungodly for any husband to claim to be the head of his family when he cannot provide for his family. As the head of the family, there is this truth that I want you to know. And that is, diligence is not convenient. It is not cheap. It is not only demanding, it also takes so much from you. Being a diligent husband will require going the extra-mile-give more, pray more, trust more.  However, you must be a hard worker if you want to ensure that your calling does not fall below the mark set for you by God. God wants you to have evidential testimonies. God wants you to be a leading light in your family fold and in your community. As a representative of Jesus Christ, God desires you to be up and doing and be a fruit bearing seed. These expectations are not for children but matured men.

So, you must take full charge and responsibility for making your headship count in the lives of your wife and children. As a husband who aims to be good and godly, there is no alternative to hard work and discipline. You must be willing to pay the price if you must attain the prize. When you make your calling as the husbandman sure, you will enjoy inner peace and fulfillment. You will also become a reference point to other husbands. Your life as a husband is supposed to inspire other husbands to desire your kind of life. Your life as a husband is supposed to be like a mirror that reflects the nature of Jesus. But you must engage your spirit, soul and body to diligently pursue the demands of your high calling. Diligence is the nature of Jesus Christ. You are made in His image and likeness. Be diligent.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me with the Spirit of diligence and discipline.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to make the most of my headship as a husband.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, deliver me from laziness and spiritual complacency.

FAITH CONFESSION

I am a diligent and hardworking husband because that is the signature that defines my headship as a good and godly husband in Jesus Name. Amen.
