RESPONSIBILITY BIRTHS INHERITANCE (2)

Spread the love

Main Scriptures: Gal.4:1-2

More Scriptures: 1Tim.5:7-8, Gen.2:14-18, Gen.17:1-4

Think of it this way. If a father dies and leaves an inheritance for his young children, those children are not much better off than slaves until they grow up, even though they actually own everything their father had (Gal.4:1) NLT

Let me begin by saying that spirituality is the force you need to overcome the root of irresponsibility in your life. As the head of the family, you need to be spiritually empowered by the Spirit of God so that you can stop every rampaging force of the devil that is trying to gain access to your life and the lives of your wife and children. These satanic influences include sickness, affliction, defeat, failure, foolishness, dullness, divorce, disloyalty, betrayal, bitterness, unforgiveness, and much more. You must also understand that there is no spiritual holiday for the good and godly shepherd.

The second proof of your spiritual maturity is emotional responsibility. You must accept the truth that temptation is real, and all men are tempted. The pressure to have an extra marital affair, a one-night stand with a prostitute, to steal what does not belong to you, to corruptly change figures in your office, to blackmail people in order to gain favour or to deceive others, is as real as day and night. But you must learn to discipline your appetite for food, sex and materials. Furthermore, as the godly husbandman, it is your covenant demand to principally provide for your wife and children their need for food, shelter, clothing and all other things that pertain to life and godliness (1Tim.5:7-8, Gen.2:14-18). So, sometimes because of the demands of being responsible, satan wants you to compromise your righteous stand by tempting you to fall into temptation- the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life. But the word of God commanded us to bring our bodies under subjection to the will of God. Apostle Paul speaking said, “I bring my body under”. Daniel in Dan.1:8-12, purposed in his heart that he will defile himself with the king’s meat. Why should you become emotionally responsible? It is because you are the light of the world and the salt of the earth (Matt.5:14-16). You are the exact image of Jesus Christ, the perfect example of a good and godly. You are also a joint heir with Him. Your life is designed to be a positive influence in the lives of your wife, children and the world at large. God wants to acknowledge you as a faithful servant just the same way He did for Abraham and Job (Gen.18:19, Job. 1:1). So, if you are not emotionally responsible, you will be consumed by anger, envy, bitterness, unforgivenss, adultery, theft and much more. God wants you to grow into sonship that will take personal responsibility for the welfare of His sheep that He has committed into your care. So, you have to brace up, take up the cross and be challenged to be indeed a good and godly husband to your sheep and the world. That is what truly counts for you.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, deliver me from every root of irresponsibility.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to overcome the pressures of life.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, break the power of ungodliness in my life and teach me to live a godly life.

FAITH CONFESSION

I am a son and not a child and I manifest my headship by taking complete responsibility for the demands of my office as the husbandman because that is what gives true value to my worth as the good and godly shepherd in Jesus name. Amen.
