HOW TO OVERCOME CHALLENGES OF HUSBANDHOOD (1)

Spread the love

Main Scriptures: Romans 12:11-16

More Scriptures: 1Thess.5:18, Phil.4:6, Ps.100:4

Let me begin by saying that the husbandhood has its challenges. The very moment you occupy the office, you come face to face with the pressure, expectations and demands of the office. And so, it is unwise to think that being the godly man, husband and father is without its bumps. If you appreciate this truth, you will never be discouraged when the storms, wind and rain come down on you as the shepherd over your sheep and sheepfold.

And that is why we want to consider the attitude that you and I must have in the face of the challenges we may be having the leader with our wives and homes. This is what the Scripture say in this regard. It says never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fevour serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer, share with God’s people who are in need, practice hospitality. Bless those who persecute you, bless and do not curse. Rejoice with those who rejoice and mourn with those who mourn. Live in harmony with one another. Rom.12:11-16.

The foregoing Bible passage brought out four (4) keys to overcoming the challenges that you are facing or may face as the head of your family. And by the grace of God, over the next few days, we shall be exploring the secrets. The word of God says be joyful, be patient, be faithful in prayers and practice hospitality. As spiritual leader of your home and head of your family, you must have a good understanding of how God works and leads, otherwise you may be driven by the devil to commit suicides because of the challenges of life. Do you have an obstacle right in front of you seems bigger than you can handle, God’s word says, “Rejoice”. The best time for you to rejoice in the Lord your God is when you are in your deepest pit of trails. It is not a time for you to complain or murmur against God. It is in times like this that you lift up your holy hands and continually give God thanks, especially when you have done all that God demands from you. One of the ways to understand the greatness of God in your most difficult situations is through thanksgiving and praise. Praising and thanking God when it didn’t make sense is as powerful as the formation of a child in the womb. It is a spiritual weapon of warfare and the secret for coming out of every challenge you may be experiencing.

When Jesus Christ had to contend raising His friend Lazarus from the dead after four days, He didn’t murmur. He didn’t complain. He didn’t give any form of excuse. He gave thanks to His Father in heave. When He also needed to feed five thousand men excluding women and children, He employed the weapon of thanksgiving. And the result was that He overcame the challenge. As a child of God, you are joined to the Living God, Who cannot lie. So, do not act as though you have no hope. Get excited in God, it is a proof of your faith in Him.
