LOVE GIVES (4)

Spread the love

Main Scriptures: 1 Cor.13:1-end

More Scriptures: 2Thess.3:2, Rom.1:27, Phm: 11

Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and GAVE HIMSELF UP FOR HER (Eph.5:25) New American Standard.

Having read this Scripture as the head of your family and the husband to your wife, the question that comes to your mind is how I give to my sheep. To understand this truth, there is need for you to look deeply at the phrase, gave Himself up for her. What this means is that you no longer live for yourself but for your wife and children.

But how do I give to my wife and children my time that seems scarce? The first practical way is for you to prioritize your activities daily, weekly and monthly. You must place your activity on the scale of importance and define the ones that will add value to you and help you to function greatly as the godly man, husband and father. There are so many things that are calling for your attention. You must understand which activity you must attend to. As a husband, you must appreciate that you only have one life to live and one family to live for. So, you must appreciate that God has positioned you in the home so that you can make the most impact in their lives. It is your responsibility to get engaged in those activities that would make you a 360-degree leader to your wife and children.

The second wisdom key is to pray to God to help you manage your time. Yes! Pray. Prayer remains your most potent platform to connect with the power of God to help you refuse distractions, ungodly influences and ungodly locations and unreasonable relationships. You must seek for the help of God to fill you with understanding. Why understanding? Because when God empowers you with understanding, you will able to differentiate between what is important and what is not. And once you know the difference, you can let go the unimportant and hold onto the important activities. And as you shed off the unnecessary activities, you will have extra time to spend with your wife and children. The third step is for you to consciously locate fellow husbands whom you share the same vision with concerning your sheep from Scripture. The Scripture tells us that where there is no vision, the people perish (Pro.29:18). As a husband and leader, God has a plan for your family, wife and children. He wants you to run with His plans for your sheep with the whole of your heart, spirit, might and strength. He wants you to give a glorious account of your stewardship over the lives (your wife and children) that He has committed into your care. It is for this reason that you must choose your fellow husbands wisely. Any man, woman and relationship that will take farther away from you flock rather than bring you closer to them must be cut-off immediately. Anyone whose vision does not agree with the plans and purposes of God is not a worthy friend. You must come out from amongst them if you will ever count as the good and godly husband.

 FAITH CONFESSION

I seek to dedicate my precious time to my wife and children so that I can empower, motivate and inspire them because that is what makes me the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
