I want to share with you my encounter from the Scripture. I am confident in God that you will be helped by the Holy Spirit to become the best of God to your wife and children by the word of God. It is true that as a watchman over your wife and children, the unpleasant attitude of your sheep may have led you to seek alternative outside your home. Infact, you have gotten to your breaking point with them. You can no longer tolerate them. Satan may have whispered to you to walk out of that ordained relationship with your wife (Mal.2:14) and children (Eph.6:4). Don’t be surprised if you are this situation. Even God Almighty got to this point with His flock (Jer. 31:10). In Jer. 31:27-28, the Scripture says of God, behold the days come, saith the LORD, that I will sow the house of Israel and the house of Judah with the seed of man, and with the seed of beast. And it shall come to pass that like as I have watched over them, to pluck up, and to breakdown and to throw down and to destroy and to afflict.
So, you can see that God was unhappy with the people of Israel and Judah. But God did something which He wants you to also do when your sheep misbehaves. He took the place of a watchman with the aim of building His people up in the right ways again. God wanted to rebuild them. God had a rethink, so you should. He reversed His anger in verse 28b of Jer.31, the Scripture says, so will I watch over them to BUILD and to PLANT, saith the LORD (Jer.31:28b). But for you to watch to build, you need the grace of God and the power of the Holy Spirit. In Philippians 2:13, the Scripture says for it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. It pleases God when you watch over your wife and children. God is pleased when you do not abandon them in their irresponsibility rather you build them up. So that when you connect to Him, He makes His grace available for you. You also need to seek for godly mentors and fellowship, where your life would be edified so that you can see light and hope even in the midst of the challenge. And when you do these, God will honour you (1Tim.5:17). You will also enjoy favour from God (Pro.18:22). Your prayers would not be hindered (1Pet.3:7). You also will enjoy the glory of your children (Pro.17:6). God does not take pleasure in the destruction of your family. Watch and build your sheep and sheepfold by cooperating with God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.
SPIRITUAL EXERCISE
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, help me to build a strong and vibrant family fold.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, deliver my family from the power of divorce and separation.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to plant good seeds into the lives of my wife and children.
FAITH CONFESSION
I am persuaded by grace and I receive help from God to plant, watch and build my wife and children in good pleasures because that is what makes me the good and godly husband in Jesus name. Amen.
