WHOSE HEAD DOES THE CAP FIT?

Spread the love

Main Scriptures: Eph.5:22-33

More Scriptures: Gen.2:15, Matt.19:5, Col.3:19

Our main text today is a rather long one. But as a husband, it is very important for you to take a second look at the Scriptures again. And that is what the Holy Spirit is about to do for you today. Did you know that to whom much is given, much more is required? Did you also know that your wife is given three verses in our main text today, but you were given nine verses? Have you wondered why God would choose to demand much more from you than He demanded from your wife?  The answer is simply because you are the head of your family. As the head of your family fold and the spiritual leader over your wife and children, you have so much at stake and so much to do for your flock. Every time the husband fails to lead, he leaves his sheep at the mercy of the world, sin and the devil. God knows that you are capable of leading your family fold. He did not make a mistake when He decided to make you a man because He had made provisions for you to succeed as a pastor, priest, shepherd, mentor, king and lord. So, your head truly fits the cap of leadership.

But how do I run with the cap of leadership as a husband? Firstly, you must continue to celebrate your position as a husband. What you don’t thank God for will always depreciate. The more you keep thanking God for giving you the opportunity to lead, the more you receive inspiration to becoming better as a husband. Secondly, agree with God that He was right for making you the head of your family. Now what does it mean to agree with God? It means accepting full responsibility for the lives of your wife and children and allowing the precepts of God to inform your decisions. When you accept personal responsibility for anything, it becomes easy to accept the demands and consequences. So, when your wife and child fail, you don’t blame it on others. When you decide to jump the gun into the arms of a strange woman, you don’t blame it on your wife. When you decide to abuse your child, you don’t blame it on anything or person. Whose head does the cap fit? You or your wife?

FAITH CONFESSION

I take personal responsibility to lead my wife and children because I wear the cap of godly leadership as the good and godly husband in Jesus name. Amen.
